The technical director on this film was Draper Kaufmann, although having recently graduated from the US Naval Academy, was denied a commission due to poor eyesight. He later founded the US Navy UDT teams in World War 2, the forerunner of the what is now the SEALS. He went on to become an Admiral. (From the book, "America's First Frogman.") See more
