Comic-Con 2019: Marvel Announces Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness

In addition to a new Blade movie, Marvel Studios' Kevin Feige announced at Hall H in San Diego that the Doctor Strange sequel will be titled Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

As expected, Benedict Cumberbatch will reprise his role as Doctor Stephen Strange. However, the big surprise is that Scarlet Witch (played by Elizabeth Olsen) will be joining Doctor Strange for this adventure, according to Marvel.com. Cumberbatch and Olsen are the only two confirmed actors set to star at this time. The movie, set for release May 7th, 2021, is said to be the first "scary" film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Scott Derrickson will resume his role as director as he returns to his roots in horror. Derrickson has previously directed horror films such as The Exorcism of Emily Rose, Sinister, and Deliver Us From Evil.
