When Disney acquired 20th Century Fox, we knew the days were numbered for the “X-Men” movie franchise. Someday it will be resurrected and rebooted in the Marvel Cinematic Universe with a whole new cast, but the legacy of the current iteration, which concludes with “Dark Phoenix” is still impressive, as it kicked off the superhero movie craze and managed to continue on without a reboot for nearly two decades.
