Exclusive Interview – Michael Dougherty on Godzilla: King of the Monsters

Releasing five years after its predecessor, the long-awaited sequel Godzilla: King of the Monsters has finally made it’s way into cinemas and is filled with all the monster-mash action you’d expect.

In the lead up to the film’s release, we were lucky enough to sit down with writer-director Michael Dougherty to talk about some of his key creative decisions. From the movie’s distinctive use of colour, right through to the musical choices, we get into the nitty-gritty detail. In particular, Dougherty spoke at length about the real world creatures that inspired him on the production and how he drew inspiration from the natural world to flesh out these iconic monsters.
