Brian De Palma to direct The Truth and Other Lies

Acclaimed filmmaker Brian De Palma is set to get back behind the camera, with The Hollywood Reporter revealing that he’s set to direct an adaptation of Sascha Arango’s black comedy crime novel The Truth and Other Lies.

The book, which was awards the Prix Européen du Polar du Point, the European prize for best literary debut, follows “famous writer Henry Hayden, who manages to uphold his image as a loving husband but is in danger of losing the facade when his mistress becomes pregnant.”

De Palma, whose past credits include the likes of Carrie, Scarface, The Untouchables and Mission: Impossible, has not directed a movie since 2012’s Passion. He was also the subject of the 2015 documentary De Palma from directors Noah Baumbach and Jake Paltrow.
