Oscar 2013: Christian Petzold’s Barbara is Germany’s entry for the Best Foreign Language Film Academy Award Starring Nina Hoss, writer-director Christian Petzold’s Barbara is Germany’s submission for the 2013 Best Foreign Language Film Academy Award. The political / romantic drama earned Petzold the Silver Bear for Best Director at this year’s Berlin Film Festival. Additionally, Barbara received seven nominations for the Lolas, the German Academy Awards, eventually winning the runner-up trophy for Best Film.
