Im Global to Finance Plush; Strand Picks Up Comes A Bright Day; Gkids to Release English-Language Ernest & Celestine

Three projects took a big step toward theaters today: Im Global will finance Catherine Hardwicke's Plush, an erotic thriller led by Emily Browning, Xavier Samuel, and Cam Gigandet. Strand Releasing has acquired the U.S. rights to Simon Aboud’s Comes a Bright Day. Craig Roberts and Imogen Poots star in the British production set during the robbery of a London jewelry store. Gkids signed a deal with Studiocanal to release an English-language version of Ernest & Celestinein the States in Fall 2013. Hit the jump for details on each project. According to THR, Plush just began shooting in Los Angeles this week. The report provides this logline: "[Plush is] about a rising rock star who, after losing her bandmate and brother to a drug overdose, finds herself in a downwards spiral. After her second album proves a commerical disaster, she becomes involved with a replacement guitarist, and their relationship soon crosses the line sexually.
