Moviepilot completed a new $16 million funding round to fuel the fan-centric media website’s expansion into gaming content and social video production, the company announced Tuesday. The round is led by French publishing group Webedia, which operates several of the top entertainment websites outside the U.S., including the largest movie websites in France, Germany, Spain and Brazil. Moviepilot Hires Electus Digital Veteran Chad Bowman as VP of Sales

Moviepilot has hired Chad Bowman as VP of sales to oversee a growing sales division out of its Venice headquarters. He’ll report to Moviepilot CEO and co-founder Tobi Bauckhage, who made the announcement on Wednesday. Bowman will immediately take over Moviepilot’s branded video department and further establish media partnerships with entertainment, consumer goods and gaming brands. Bowman previously served as the senior sales director for Electus Digital, managing all media sales and content partnerships for their websites such as CollegeHumor, Cracked, WatchLoud and Dorkly.
