Hilary Swank, Michael Ealy Thriller ‘Fatale’ Lands at Lionsgate

Lionsgate has picked up the North American and key international rights to the psychological thriller “Fatale” starring Hilary Swank and Michael Ealy, Lionsgate Motion Picture Group Chairman Joe Drake announced Thursday.

Mike Colter and Tyrin Turner also star in the film directed by Deon Taylor, who most recently directed the summer sleeper hit “The Intruder.”

Fatale” follows a married man who finds himself living in a nightmare as he is manipulated by a mysterious woman after having a one-night stand with her. David Loughery wrote and produced the film. Taylor’s Hidden Empire Film Group partner Roxanne Taylor also produced, while Robert F. Smith executive produced.

TV News Roundup: ‘Silicon Valley’s’ Final Season Sets October Premiere Date
In today’s roundup, “Silicon Valley” returns to HBO on Oct. 27 and Quibi greenlights a new cooking competition show “Dismantled.”

The fifth season of Netflix‘s “Peaky Blinders” will premiere on the streamer Oct. 4. The newest season will continue to follow one gangster family in the lawless streets of Birmingham, UK during the midst of the 1929 financial crash. Directed by Anthony Byrne, the series stars Cillian Murphy, Helen McCrory, and Paul Anderson.

The sixth and final season of “Silicon Valley” will return to HBO on Oct. 27. The seven-episode season will continue to take a comedic look at the epicenter of technology and start-up culture, starring Thomas Middleditch, Zach Woods, Kumail Nanjiani, Martin Starr, Amanda Crew, Jimmy O. Yang, Suzanne Cryer, Matt Ross, and Josh Brener.

Written, executive produced and directed by Chris Stokes, Los Angeles-set Sacrifice stars Patton as Daniella Hernandez, a highly sought after entertainment lawyer. The legal thriller tracks Daniella as she navigates the nefarious lives of her rich and famous clients. Paula Patton to Star in Legal Thriller ‘Sacrifice’ for BET+
Paula Patton is set to star in a legal thriller for Viacom’s upcoming BET+ streaming service. The project, called “Sacrifice” is a two-hour film that could end up becoming a series.

Patton will star as an entertainment lawyer navigating the nefarious lives of the rich and famous. Chris Stokes, who wrote and directed “You Got Served,” will write, direct and executive produce, with Marques Houston as a co-executive producer and cast member.

“We are thrilled to have Paula and the talented ensemble cast join our first original film on BET+, as we continue to strengthen our commitment to quality storytelling while meeting our audience on all platforms,” said Connie Orlando, Head of Programming, Bet Networks.

Paula Patton to Star in Bet+ Legal Thriller (Exclusive)

Bet+ continues to ramp up its roster of originals.

The forthcoming streaming service has greenlit Sacrifice, a two-hour movie starring Paul Patton that will double as a backdoor pilot.

The original movie, described as a legal thriller, will star Patton (Precious) as an entertainment lawyer navigating the nefarious lives of her rich and famous clients.

Chris Stokes (You Got Served) is attached to write, exec produce and direct. Marques Houston will co-exec produce the Footage Films project, which shot in New Orleans. The movie will premiere on Bet's forthcoming streaming service at a date to be determined in 2020.

Cameron Boyce Cause Of Death Released By L.A. County Coroner

Disney star Cameron Boyce died of sudden unexpected epilepsy, the Los Angeles County coroner’s office said in official records released Tuesday.

Boyce, 20, was found unresponsive on Saturday, July 6, at his home in North Hollywood. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:35 p.m., according to the coroner’s office.

A family representative said at the time that the actor died following a seizure in his sleep, due to “an ongoing medical condition.”

An autopsy was performed on Monday, July 8, but the coroner’s office delayed releasing an official cause of death pending further investigation.

Days later, his family released a second statement saying his “tragic passing was due to a seizure as a result of an ongoing medical condition, and that condition was epilepsy.”

Boyce was best known for his roles in the Disney Channel franchise Descendants, and the network’s TV series Jessie. He recently wrapped a role for Descendants 3,

The Los Angeles County coroner’s office performed an autopsy Monday on Disney star Cameron Boyce, but has delayed releasing an official cause of death pending additional tests.

Boyce, 20, was found unresponsive Saturday afternoon at his home in North Hollywood. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:35 p.m., according to the coroner’s office.

A family representative said in a statement that the actor died following a seizure in his sleep, caused by “an ongoing medical condition for which he was being treated.”

Tennant, fresh off the set of BBC show There She Goes and Amazon’s upcoming Good Omens, will play a man living the dream in the Mediterranean with his partner (Watson).

Their idyll is shattered when their visiting son is murdered by a local youth. The grief-stricken man is offered a chance of revenge by an insistent stranger and learns the price of revenge is another murder.
