Her son, Scott Eugene Smith, died in a surfing accident on August 2, 1985 at the family home in Plum Island, Massachusetts. Lois and her husband set up a scholarship fund in Scott's name at the Hebron Academy, where he would have been a junior. His father also graduated from the Hebron Academy, Class of 1943. See more »
