Saw Reboot Director Teases A Scene So Disturbing That He Wanted To Shower

The upcoming ninth installment in the popular Saw series recently wrapped filming, and as director Darren Lynn Bousman looks back on the footage he shot over the past couple of months, the filmmaker singles out one particular scene as a disturbing highlight.

As the director of Saws two through four, Bousman clearly has the stomach for gruesome and grisly spectacle. Nonetheless, in the midst of putting together a sequence in his next feature, he admitted via Twitter that even he was feeling pretty sickened by what he’d made:

“ugh… cutting a scene right now on Saw and it makes me want to take a shower… needle pit might have some competition.”

That's a wrap! Director Darren Lynn Bousman has revealed that the new Saw movie has officially wrapped filming. This latest installment of the long-running and highly-successful horror franchise remains very mysterious, but whatever it is we have coming our way next year, the footage is in the can. What we know for sure is that Chris Rock and Samuel L. Jackson are in on the action this time around, which is enough on its own to spark some curiosity. To add just a bit of fuel to the fire, Bousman shared one final set photo to honor the occasion.

Plot details are virtually non-existent for the latest entry in the Saw franchise, but Darren Lynn Bousman teased us just a bit with this final photo. We see a room full of green screen that appears to be splattered with fake blood. One wouldn't think of Saw as the kind of

Saban Films Pick Up Director Darren Lynn Bousman’s Horror Film Death Of Me

Saban Films has picked up the distribution rights to director Darren Lynn Bousman’s new horror film Death of Me, which stars Maggie Q and Luke Hemsworth.

Bousman has directed a lot of horror movies in his career such as several Saw films (including the new one), Repo! The Genetic Opera, and The Devil’s Carnival. I’ve enjoyed watching many of his films, and this next one of his sounds like it’ll be good.

The story for the movie centers on “a couple on an exotic holiday who awaken one morning with a hangover and no recollection of what transpired. When playing back the video of their previous night, they learn they participated in a ritual that somehow ended with the husband murdering the wife — though she’s actually very much alive.”

Well, that sounds like fun! It’s like a satanic horror filled version of The Hangover.

That leads us to today’s on-set snapshot, which gives us our first look at Rock’s cop character.

As you can see below, there isn’t much one can glean from this photo, other than Rock is definitely playing a police detective, a character archetype that has appeared in all eight previous Saw movies. Other pics included below show off a few rotten cadavers, a bloody victim, and Bousman taking a hands on approach to capturing a shot himself.
