21 Bridges Faces Off Against Frozen 2 in New Pre-Holiday Release Date

21 Bridges Faces Off Against Frozen 2 in New Pre-Holiday Release Date
We're going to have to wait a little bit longer to see Chadwick Boseman back on the big screen, as his new movie 21 Bridges has been pushed back by two full months. This project reunites Boseman, best known for his work in Marvel's Back Panther, with Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame director Joe and Anthony Russo, who serve as producers on the original thriller. Despite the starpower, the studio has decided to try a different strategy to try and make this release a successful one.

Stx Entertainment is set to distribute 21 Bridges. Originally, they had set a September 27 release date. They've now decided to bump that back to November 22. On the surface, it doesn't seem to be because they think anything is wrong with the movie, which comes from director Brian Kirk. Instead, it's got to do with stiff competition and trying to find a way in which

Showtime's The Loudest Voice Gives an Intimate Look at Notorious Fox News Icon Roger Ailes

At the heart of Showtime's The Loudest Voice is the shadowy Roger Ailes, who notoriously turned Fox News into a profit machine and fell from power after multiple sexual harassment allegations. Russell Crowe plays the Summer series's central villain in nearly unrecognizable makeup and prosthetics, reminiscent of Christian Bale's transformation in Vice. Alongside Crowe is a cream-of-the-crop cast, including Sienna Miller, Seth MacFarlane, and Naomi Watts. While the project mostly centers on Ailes's time at Fox News, the media mogul has actually influenced American media and politics for much longer.

Ailes broke into the TV industry by rising the ranks at The Mike Douglas Show, a syndicated daytime variety show where he eventually became an executive producer in 1967. There, he got his foot into politics when he met Richard Nixon, eventually becoming an advisor to the then-presidential nominee. His work with Nixon didn't go unrecognized - he'd later

Chadwick Boseman Cop Thriller ’21 Bridges’ Pushed Back 2 Months at Stx

  • The Wrap
Stx Entertainment is pushing back the release date for its upcoming cop thriller “21 Bridges” starring Chadwick Boseman, according to an individual with knowledge of the project.

The independent studio, which TheWrap reported is in the market for new capital, has moved the “21 Bridges” release date to November 22 from its original September 27 date.

Stx is moving the film out of the way of Warner Bros.’s upcoming “The Joker” movie, which opens the weekend of October 4, and likes “21 Bridges'” chances as counterprogramming to Disney’s “Frozen 2,” which will also hit theaters November 22.

“We think this move is the best thing for the movie and we believe the 22nd is a great date that allows this film to play into the pre-Thanksgiving holiday, and it becomes true counterprogramming,” an Stx spokesman told TheWrap.

Chadwick Boseman-Starrer ‘21 Bridges’ Moves To November 22 Opening Date

Chadwick Boseman-Starrer ‘21 Bridges’ Moves To November 22 Opening Date
Exclusive: Stx and Agbo are moving their Chadwick Boseman-starrer 21 Bridges from September 27 to November 22 on the release date calendar.

The Brian Kirk-directed cop thriller, which also stars Sienna Miller, Stephan James, Keith David, Taylor Kitsch and J.K. Simmons, is stepping into a Thanksgiving corridor and a weekend where the other films are the Tom Hanks as Mr. Rogers movie A Beautiful Day In The Neighborhood, Frozen 2 and the Reed Morano-directed revenge thriller Rhythm Section from Paramount. But it moves out of a crowded September field and away from the R-rated Joker, which Warner Bros opens October 4.

The decision was made after 21 Bridges got a strong response when its trailer was included in the Hall H Comic-Con panel where Avengers: Endgame directors Joe and Anthony Russo unveiled their early slates under their Agbo banner. Boseman, among the stars of that all-time top-grossing film, in 21 Bridges plays an embattled

21 Bridges Comic-Con Trailer: Chadwick Boseman Stars in Russo Bros. Cop Killer Thriller
Chadwick Boseman reunited with the Russo Brothers for their upcoming 21 Bridges. The Avengers: Endgame directors are producers on the project while Brian Kirk took over directing duties from a screenplay written by Adam Mervis and Matthew Michael Carnahan. This is a far cry from the world of Black Panther, but Boseman is still a badass as he hunts cop killers in New York City. The Russos debuted the latest trailer for 21 Bridges at their San Diego Comic-Con panel earlier this afternoon.

As we see in the first Comic-Con trailer, 21 Bridges follows an embattled NYPD detective (Chadwick Boseman), who is thrust into a citywide manhunt for a pair of cop killers after uncovering a massive and unexpected conspiracy. As the night unfolds, lines become blurred on who he is pursuing, and who is in pursuit of him. When the search intensifies, extreme measures are taken to prevent the killers from escaping

Second Trailer for Action Movie '21 Bridges' with Chadwick Boseman

"What is going on here?" "That's what I'm trying to figure out." Stx Entertainment has released a second trailer for the NYC action thriller 21 Bridges. This trailer debuted at Comic-Con as a surprise, revealed by the Russo Brothers who produced it. The title is a reference to the decision in the movie, during a citywide manhunt, to shut down and block off all 21 bridges that access Manhattan (and all the tunnels and trains). Chadwick Boseman stars as a disgraced detective seeking redemption who gets into the massive manhunt for a cop killer which leads him to discover a massive conspiracy that links his fellow cops to a criminal empire. The big ensemble cast includes Taylor Kitsch, Sienna Miller, J.K. Simmons, Keith David, Stephan James, Dale Pavinski, Gary Carr, Victoria Cartagena, and Toby Hemingway. This trailer is leaning heavily on The Dark Knight and Tdk Rises, feeling very similar to when

Chadwick Boseman Hunts Cop Killers in Russo Brothers’ ’21 Bridges’ Trailer (Video)

Chadwick Boseman Hunts Cop Killers in Russo Brothers’ ’21 Bridges’ Trailer (Video)
The heroes the Russo Brothers assembled at Comic-Con this year are all boys in blue. Rather than introducing a new superhero story at their Hall-h panel on Friday, the “Avengers: Endgame” directors dropped a trailer for their gritty cop drama “21 Bridges.”

They did, however, recruit Marvel alum Chadwick Boseman (aka Black Panther) to star in “21 Bridges” as a detective who has a reputation for hunting cop killers. In the new trailer, Boseman goes to work investigating a robbery involving two experienced shooters that left eight police officers dead.

“This is either dumb luck, or a set up,” Boseman’s character says. “There cannot be a version of this where these two aren’t found.”

He then delivers orders to the NYPD to shut down all 21 bridges leading into and out of Manhattan until the killers are found.

Watch Chadwick Boseman Hunt Down Killers in New ’21 Bridges’ Trailer
Shots are fired in a new trailer for “21 Bridges,” starring Chadwick Boseman and J.K. Simmons, released during a Comic-Con panel today.

The heist-thriller, produced by Joe and Anthony Russo of “Avengers: Endgame,” stars Boseman as an NYPD detective Andre Davis who finds himself embroiled in a city-wide manhunt after two cops are accused of committing a string of murders. Mysteriously, Boseman’s character is the only one who can catch the killers, and following a tumultuous history with the rest of the detective team, he’s now earned the opportunity for redemption.

Determined to fulfill his duties, Andre blocks every exit out of Manhattan in an attempt to trap the alleged killers.

“Close the island,” he instructs two detectives. When the cops are confused, he clarifies: “Manhattan. The 21 bridges, shut ’em down. Three rivers, close ’em. Four tunnels, block ’em. There cannot be a version of this where these two aren’t found.

‘Anna Karenina’ Set For Small-Screen Adaptation With ‘The Girl’ Writer Gwyneth Hughes & BBC-Backed Expectation

‘Anna Karenina’ Set For Small-Screen Adaptation With ‘The Girl’ Writer Gwyneth Hughes & BBC-Backed Expectation
Exclusive: Leo Tolstoy’s Anna Karenina is set for another small-screen remake with The Girl writer Gwyneth Hughes developing an adaptation with British producer Expectation.

Deadline understands that the BBC Studios-backed producer, which is run by former Endemol Shine chief Tim Hincks and ex-ITV content boss Peter Fincham, is in the early stages of developing the project.

Hughes is best known for the 2012 HBO/BBC movie The Girl, which starred Sienna Miller as Tippi Hedren and explored Alfred Hitchcock’s obsession with the actress. She also recently adapted William Makepeace Thackeray’s Vanity Fair into a seven-part Olivia Cooke-fronted series for ITV and Amazon, and is currently working on two-part drama Honour starring Keeley Hawes for ITV.

Anna Karenina, first published in 1878, is a complex story with dozens of major characters. It tells the story of the eponymous lead, who has an affair with a dashing cavalry

‘The Loudest Voice’ Gets Very Soft Viewership For Debut; Roger Ailes BioSeries Least Watched Showtime Premiere This Year

  • Deadline
One of Fox News Channel founder Roger Ailes’ obsession was ratings, and the former Mike Douglas Show producer would have cackled at how quiet the debut of Showtime’s Russell Crowe starring The Loudest Voice was.

With just 299,000 viewers for its 10 Pm opener on the CBS-owned premium cabler, the Gladiator actor and Naomi Watts, Seth McFarlane and Sienna Miller co-starrer looks to be one of the lowest non-broadcast debuts of the year so far. While the decades of antics and much alleged sexually harassing behavior of ex-Richard Nixon advisor Ailes was the subject of a forest full of coverage (including here on the digital only Deadline) especially once Gretchen Carlson sued her ex-boss in 2016, the initial numbers make it pretty clear there wasn’t much of a market for more outside of the media itself

Based on Gabriel Sherman’s 2014 bestseller The Loudest Voice in the Room: How the Brilliant,

TV Ratings: ‘The Loudest Voice’ Premieres Low

  • Variety
TV Ratings: ‘The Loudest Voice’ Premieres Low
Despite an all-star cast including Russell Crowe, Naomi Watts and Seth MacFarlane, Showtime’s “The Loudest Voice” premiered to unspectacular figures on the cabler.

The premiere averaged 299,000 total viewers during its initial Sunday 10 p.m. broadcast which, for comparison, is just over half the 532,000 viewers which “City on a Hill” managed for its debut episode. That number also lags behind the recent debut of another big Showtime limited series, “Escape at Dannemora,” which was watched by 397,000 total viewers during its initial broadcast. However, that show’s viewership increased to over 700,000 by its finale, so expect “The Loudest Voice” to potentially achieve something similar.

The Loudest Voice” figures did double with the addition of replays and digital viewing to 651,000, and it’s worth mentioning that with Showtime series, the bulk of viewing is typically delivered across on demand platforms, streaming and delayed viewing, so expect that figure to increase significantly in the coming days.

‘The Loudest Voice’ Review: Russell Crowe’s License to Ailes

‘The Loudest Voice’ Review: Russell Crowe’s License to Ailes
Credit where credit’s due: The Loudest Voice, Showtime’s seven-part miniseries about the rise and fall of Fox News chairman/alleged chronic sexual harasser Roger Ailes, is dedicated to living up to its name. From the moment that Russell Crowe’s jowly, handsy version of the political consultant-turned-conservative kingmaker shows up in a diner, predicting how his epitaph will read — “right-wing, paranoid, fat” — you have the distinct feeling you are being yelled at. And not just by the Oscar-winning actor, though he does unleash hell via a variety of high-volume bellows,

TV Review: ‘The Loudest Voice’

TV Review: ‘The Loudest Voice’
Roger Ailes, the late Fox News chief and one of the most consequential figures in the history of media, saw and used two seemingly incompatible sides of television. A traditionalist entertainer who came up in the industry at “The Mike Douglas Show,” Ailes rooted himself in certain rock-solid fundamentals of attracting and retaining audience attention; a forward thinker driven by ambition and rage, he also pushed the medium to new heights of flash and new depths of contempt, meeting a segment of his cable audience where it was and pushing them yet further. He was the mind that created, and that animated, a network that is at once cable’s most popular and something more powerful still: The ideological engine behind the contemporary Republican party.

It makes for a fascinating character, and — one might expect — a potentially intriguing character study. Certainly, on “The Loudest Voice,” Russell Crowe is putting in the work,

Sienna Miller Says Aging in Hollywood Is a Blessing: 'You’re Not Just Something in a Skirt'
Sienna Miller has come a long way from her headline-making beginnings in Hollywood — from an it girl ingenue in the early aughts, to a critically-acclaimed actress starring in several buzz-worthy projects.

“I’m older and a little more boring,” Miller, 37, says with a laugh of the positive shift in her media coverage. “Getting older is relieving. People are more willing to see you as a talented human being and not just something in a skirt. It’s a relief.”

The actress, whose romantic life used to receive more attention than her professional one, is receiving rave reviews for her performance in American Woman,
