Black Lightning’s Cress Williams on joining the Arrowverse for Crisis on Infinite Earths

Having been kept separate from the Arrowverse since its 2017 premiere, Black Lightning will finally be crossing over with Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow and the new Batwoman series this December as part of the five-episode event Crisis on Infinite Earths.

“I was excited [when it was announced], but not, I’d say, surprised because the fans have been wanting this since they announced that we were a show,” said Black Lightning himself, Cress Williams, during an interview with Entertainment Weekly to discuss his appearance in the big team-up. “They were already like, ‘Are you going to be in the crossover? When are you gonna be in the crossover?’ They always wanted it from day one. The unofficial rumblings behind the scenes had been just growing. It got to the point, especially after Comic-Con, that I would’ve been more shocked if [they said], ‘No, this is never going to happen.'”

Crisis On Infinite Earths May Be Getting A Fourth Superman

First, the rumors started swirling. Tom Welling and Michael Rosenbaum might be returning as Superman and Lex Luthor in the upcoming CW crossover event, “Crisis on Infinite Earths.” They denied it, hinted at it, and then denied it some more. As we now know, though, Welling is officially coming back with Erica Durance, which has the rumor mill swirling once again.

This time, We Got This Covered is hearing from our sources – the same ones who told us Welling was returning in the first place – that a fourth Superman may join the party. And it’s none other than Dean Cain. We need to stress though that this is not set in stone yet and from what we understand, The CW is still trying to work something out with the Lois & Clark star. If he did sign on, though, he’d join Welling, Tyler Hoechlin and Brandon Routh, making for

Smallville’s Erica Durance joins Tom Welling in DC’s Crisis on Infinite Earths

Yesterday it was revealed that Tom Welling is set to reprise his Smallville role as Clark Kent for The CW’s upcoming Arrowverse event Crisis on Infinite Earths, and it seems that Welling’s Superman will be bringing Erica Durance’s Lois Lane with him.

Durance – who has previous Arrowverse experience having starred in Supergirl as Alura Zor-El – will join Welling in multiple episodes of the five-part DC crossover, with Crisis also promising to reveal what the two characters have been up to in the decade since Smallville.

Crisis is now up to three versions of Superman and two Lois Lanes in Durance and Elizabeth Tulloch; however, according to Deadline, there are no plans to include other versions of Lois such as Teri Hatcher.

Crisis on Infinite Earths will begin with Supergirl on December 8th, followed by Batwoman on December 9th and The Flash on December 10th before concluding on

Smallville's Erica Durance to Reprise Lois Lane Role on Crisis on Infinite Earths

This year's Arrowverse crossover is staging quite the Smallville reunion.

Just one day after the news of Tom Welling reprising his Clark Kent role from The CW drama dropped comes the news that Erica Durance will appear as Lois Lane.

It's going to make for quite a surprise for fans of both Smallville and the Arrowverse shows.

Lois and Clarke ended Smallville very much together, and we're willing to bet they will still be going strong all these years later.

It's unclear how many episodes of the five-part crossover Durance and Welling will appear in, but we know it will be more than one.

Smallville’s Erica Durance To Join Tom Welling In Crisis On Infinite Earths

The Smallville stars just keep coming. Yesterday, Tom Welling was confirmed to be returning as Clark Kent for the Arrowverse’s big “Crisis on Infinite Earths” crossover this December and today brings news (via Deadline) that his old co-star Erica Durance will be coming back alongside him as Lois Lane.

Unlike Welling though, Durance wasn’t a regular on Smallville over its entire ten year run. First serving in a recurring role in season 4, the actress was promoted for season 5. The back half of the show then focused on the slow evolution of Clark and Lois’ romance. By the time of the finale, the pair were set to be married, worked at the Daily Planet and Clark was taking to the skies as Superman.

Speaking of Supes, Welling’s appointment to the crossover means there will be three Men of Steel in “Crisis,” with Tyler Hoechlin and Brandon Routh playing

‘Crisis on Infinite Earths': Erica Durance to Return as ‘Smallville’ Lois Lane for The CW’s Mega-Crossover
“Crisis on Infinite Earths” is now a “Smallville” reunion. A day after Tom Welling boarded the mega-crossover to bring back his version of Clark Kent, The CW announced that Erica Durance would return as Lois Lane.

For those keeping score: That now makes three different versions of Superman and two separate Lois Lanes for the five-part event, which kicks off in December. The crossover will pick up the “Smallville” characters some 10 years after the show went off the air.

Smallville,” which featured a pre-Superman version of Kent growing up in Kansas, aired for 10 seasons from 2001-2011. The first aired on The WB before it merged with Upn to create The CW.

Erica Durance To Reprise ‘Smallville’ Lois Lane Role In Arrowverse Crossover On the CW
Erica Durance is joining her Smallville co-star Tom Welling in the CW’s upcoming DC Arrowverse crossover. She will be reprising her role as Lois Lane in multiple episodes of the five-night event.

The crossover will reveal where Weeling’s Clark Kent and Durance’s Lois Lane characters are almost 10 years after Smallville. While the “Crisis on Infinite Earths” crossover will feature multiple versions of Clark Kent/Superman in different time frames, played by Welling, Tyler Hoechlin and Brandon Routh, I hear there are no plans for multiple incarnations of Lois Lane played by actresses who had previously portrayed her, like Teri Hatcher.

As Arrow co-creator/executive producer Marc Guggenheim hinted in the Welling casting announcement, the crossover will be paying homage to Smallville. “For eight years, Arrow has stood on the shoulders of Smallville. Simply put, there would be no Arrow, and no Arrowverse, without it,” he said.

Like Hoechlin and Routh,

Armie Hammer Reportedly Being Eyed To Play The Dceu’s Superman

No one really knows what’s going on with Superman. The embodiment of hope, who’s most recently been played by Henry Cavill in the Dceu, has drawn up a lot of controversy since Zack Snyder took the character on a much darker path. And following the critical and financial failures of both Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League, Cavill’s time with the cape has appeared to be on the chopping block.

And though it still remains to be seen what’ll ultimately happen, according to sources close to We Got This Covered – the same ones who told us Tom Welling was returning for “Crisis on Infinite Earths,” that Nightwing will debut in Titans season 2 and that Viola Davis is returning for The Suicide Squad, all of which are confirmed – Armie Hammer is high on Warner Bros.’ list of actors who could possibly take over the

Smallville Fans Are Losing It Over Tom Welling Joining Crisis On Infinite Earths

Yesterday brought the news that we’ve all been waiting for: Tom Welling is officially returning as Clark Kent in “Crisis on Infinite Earths.” The Smallville star was at the top of every DC fan’s list for who they wanted to see in the Arrowverse event, so as you can imagine, social media pretty much exploded when the news came out that the crossover we all dreamed would happen is finally a go.

Arrowverse fans have a lot of nostalgia for what’s still The CW’s longest-lasting superhero show and Welling’s “Crisis” cameo could fix the fact that he never actually wore the Superman suit on Smallville. This hasn’t been confirmed as yet, of course, but it’s definitely a possibility.

Krypton’s Cameron Cuffe Was Almost In Crisis On Infinite Earths

Today brought a hugely exciting Arrowverse announcement: Smallville‘s Tom Welling is officially returning as Clark Kent for “Crisis on Infinite Earths.” With that one in the bag, it feels like the crossover event can pull off anything now. For instance, could we see the star of Syfy’s recently-cancelled Krypton, Cameron Cuffe, return for the extra special extravaganza?

Well, unfortunately not, as though it was in the works at one point, it wasn’t meant to be. Arrow Ep Marc Guggenheim was asked about the possibility of a Krypton crossover on Twitter and he came clean that scheduling conflicts got in the way of making one happen. “We tried. We couldn’t make the dates work,” Guggenheim revealed.

Smallville’s Tom Welling to reprise Clark Kent role for Crisis on Infinite Earths

It seems that Tyler Hoechlin and Brandon Routh’s Supermen aren’t enough for the upcoming Arrowverse crossover Crisis on Infinite Earths, as The CW has announced that Smallville star Tom Welling is set to guest star as Clark Kent in the five-episode DC event.

Stephen Amell Explains Why Tom Welling Is In Crisis On Infinite Earths

We all wanted it, and it’s officially happening now. Smallville star Tom Welling will reprise his role as Clark Kent in this year’s big Arrowverse crossover “Crisis on Infinite Earths.” A return to his iconic turn as the Last Son of Krypton has been a long time coming and it was finally confirmed by The CW earlier today. Following up the news, Arrow‘s Stephen Amell has now perfectly summed up why Welling needed to be a part of the multiversal event.

Along with a Gif of Ron Burgundy saying “it’s science,” the Oliver Queen actor wrote: “There’d be no crossover without Tom Welling. So Tom Welling is in the crossover.”

Tom Welling Confirmed To Reprise His Role as Clark Kent in The CW's "Crisis on Infinite Earths" Crossover Event

Holy shit! Tom Welling is actually going to be reprising his Smallville role as Clark Kent in the CW’s upcoming DC Arrowverse crossover event series "Crisis on Infinite Earths"! He previously teased his possible involvement with the crossover, but I didn’t really think anything would come of it. Well, it’s happening and I’m pretty freakin’ stoked!

The Arrowverse producers wanted to bring in multiple versions of the Superman in the series, and over the summer they started closing the deals. Tyler Hoechlin will be reprising his role and Brandon Routh will be playing the Kingdom Come version of the character. So, Welling is in good company.

I’m actually surprised that the producers managed to get Welling back in the role because, as you know, he’s been reluctant to revisit the character that he wonderfully played on the original Smallville series.

The Crisis On Infinite Earths crossover event will check in with Tom Welling's Clark Kent almost 10 years after the end of Smallville.

The CW superhero verse has always had excellent, meta casting, but they are going to the next level with this year's big crossover event Crisis on Infinite Earths. The network just made the announcement (via TVLine) that Tom Welling, aka Smallville's Superman, will be appearing in the five-part event, which is set to air in December. Welling will reprise his role as Clark Kent, and the crossover will "reveal what happened to Clark Kent almost ten years" after the Smallville finale.

“For eight years, Arrow has stood on the shoulders of Smallville,” Arrow-verse executive producer Marc Guggenheim said in a statement, recognizing just how much the noughts WB show has meant to superhero TV and the Arrow-verse in particular.

Tom Welling Officially Joins Crisis On Infinite Earths As Clark Kent

The Arrowverse is about to bring us its biggest crossover yet with “Crisis on Infinite Earths,” as the multiversal premise will make way for multiple DC icons from other media to return to their roles again. Already, we know that Kevin Conroy’s finally playing Batman in live-action, Burt Ward will be back as an older Robin and Brandon Routh is suiting up as the Man of Steel after playing the role in Superman Returns.

Of course, another person that fans have been desperately hoping to see return is Tom Welling as Clark Kent, the part he embodied for ten years on Smallville. Over the past few months, there had been some conflicting intel about whether it would happen or not, but it’s now been officially confirmed that yes, Welling will indeed return for “Crisis on Infinite Earths.”

Tom Welling To Reprise ‘Smallville’ Clark Kent Role In Arrowverse Crossover On the CW
And then there were three. Tom Welling is set to reprise his Smallville role as Clark Kent in the CW’s upcoming DC Arrowverse crossover, joining two other actors who have played the Man of Steel, Tyler Hoechlin and Brandon Routh that are already set to portray the character in the crossover.

Talk started over the summer that the Arrowverse producers were looking to feature multiple versions of Superman in different time periods during the Infinite Earths event, with Welling, Hoechlin and Routh all on the wish list.

While Hoechlin and Routh already are members of the Arrowverse — Hoechlin recurs as Superman on Supergirl, while Routh plays Ray Palmer/The Atom on DC’s Legends of Tomorrow — making their recruitment easier, getting Welling to reprise his signature role was not an easy proposition as he had been reluctant to revisit the character.
