Jerry O'Connell Busts Out His Comedy Chops To Spoof Steve Harvey's Now-Infamous Staff ''Memo''

Jerry O'Connell Busts Out His Comedy Chops To Spoof Steve Harvey's Now-Infamous Staff ''Memo''
Steve Harvey may not be used to being the butt of the joke, but that's what's happened days after his shocking memo to staff got leaked and sent the Internet into a tizzy. Jerry O'Connell, comedian Jerry Minor and the warped minds at Funny or Die have teamed up to spoof the now-infamous staff memo—and it's pretty damn funny. In the Internet sketch, Minor plays the daytime talk show host who wants nothing other than some "me-time" to "relax," but gets visited by increasingly annoying and aggravating visitors (mostly O'Connell). O'Connell may not have gotten the gig at Live! With Kelly this week, but at least he's still got his sense of...

Review: FX's compelling 'The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story'

  • Hitfix
"Fame is fleeting," Robert Kardashian tells his kids in an early episode of FX's The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story (it debuts tomorrow night at 10). "It's hollow. It means nothing at all without a virtuous heart." Young Kim, Kourtney, Khloe, and Rob look at their father like he's speaking some long-dead language they have no hope of understanding. Their dad is on TV, and getting priority seating at overbooked restaurants, all because he's famous — and only famous, at that, because his best friend happens to be Simpson, the world's most famous accused murderer. Of course fame means everything to these kids. The People v. O.J. — the first installment of a new FX anthology series from Ryan Murphy (American Horror Story, Glee), and not to be confused with ABC's similarly-titled anthology series American Crime — isn't really a Keeping Up with the Kardashians origin story. The kids only appear

Show Premise

“Out of the Crossfire, beyond Hardball, this is Crossballs!”

A parody of political debate shows, Crossballs has comedians pose as experts in their field to discuss the issue of the day and pits them against real life experts who are not aware of the farce debate they are participating in. The comedians argue both sides of an issue, be it ridiculous or not, and mine comedy from taking the issue to absurd lengths and goading reactions from the real experts.

Each episode is moderated by Chris Tallman (as a Chris Matthews type), who introduces

This week in tv news: John Singleton to make the jump to TV with FX

Lisa Kudrow in The Comeback, which she announced will be returning for a third season.

John Singleton is poised to be the next filmmaker to make the leap to television, as FX has picked up the pilot for Snowfall, a show co-created by Singleton. The press release had this summary of the series.

Los Angeles 1981. A storm is coming and its name is cocaine. Snowfall is a one-hour drama set against the infancy of the crack cocaine epidemic and its ultimate radical impact on the culture as we know it. The story follows three characters on a violent collision course: Franklin Saint, young street entrepreneur on a quest for power; Gustavo Zapata, a Mexican wrestler turned gangster in search of his American dream; and Logan Miller, a prominent family’s “black sheep” desperate to escape his father’s shadow.

'Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt' season 1: Catchy songs, crazy guests, and more

'Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt' season 1: Catchy songs, crazy guests, and more
I finished "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt" season 1 last night. My overall, very positive opinion hasn't changed much from my original review, but I have a few random thoughts on it (with spoilers, of course), coming up just as soon as you troll the respawn, Jeremy... Numbered "Kimmy" thoughts, in no particular order: 1)I need to make the theme song a ringtone so it can stay in my life always, because females are strong as hell, and it's catchy as hell. 2)Ellie Kemper is joy, and Fey, Carlock and company can still sling crazy jokes like they did on "30 Rock." That said, where "30 Rock" could often do great, hilarious things when Liz was largely absent, this show almost always works best when Kimmy is directly involved. As Kimmy's barely-qualified guide to modern life, Titus is a wonderful character; off on his own, he's very hit-or-miss. Ditto Jacqueline and Lillian and the different recurring characters.

'Mr. Show' Reunion May Happen in 2015

'Mr. Show' Reunion May Happen in 2015
Although it only ran for four seasons between 1995 and 1998, Mr. Show with Bob and David has gained a devoted cult following. Mr. Show writer/star Paul F. Tompkins sent out a photo to his Twitter followers earlier today, teasing "something new from the Mr. Show gang in the new year." Naturally, 2015 would be the perfect time for Mr. Show to come back in some incarnation, since it marks the 20th anniversary of the series' debut, but we have no further details at this time.

The photo features Paul F. Tompkins flanked by Scott Aukerman, Jay Johnston, Eric Hoffman, Bill Odenkirk, Brian Posehn and series creators/stars Bob Odenkirk and David Cross. It isn't exactly clear why this group is all together, who all either wrote and/or starred in Mr. Show, but there are several pens and pads of paper seen in the image, leading some to believe they are

Which Hotwives of Orlando Character Is the Hottest Mess?
Starting today, anyone with an internet connection and 23 minutes of free time can stream the season finale of The Hotwives of Orlando, the original Hulu series parodying the sprawling Real Housewives shows and the various franchises’ train-wreck stars. Like the reunion specials capping off Real Housewives seasons, the seventh episode of Hotwives reconvenes the titular narcissists (played by Casey Wilson and others) for a salacious update hosted by the show’s Andy Cohen–alike (Paul Scheer). Now that season one is in the books, Vulture closely examined the six O-Town hot messes and and ranked the Hotwives by their inherent hot-messness.6. Maria Bamford, Melinda Hill Team Up For ‘The Program’ On Funny Or Die

Six years ago, Maria Bamford launched The Maria Bamford Show, a novel web series that stands as one of the best of its era. We've seen a few new web offerings from Bamford since then, and her latest work takes her to Funny or Die, where she is the co-creator and star of a web series called The Program. The Program stars Bamford as Peace, an upbeat woman whose"PhD in Medieval Studies" and her "real problem with working" have landed her $200,000 in debt. To help combat her financial situation, she runs "Debtors Anonymous", a version of Alcoholics Anonymous catered to people who are deep into debt. Debtors Anonymous attracts a few familiar faces, including Oscar Nuñez of The Office fame, former SNLer Jerry Minor, and Melinda Hill, who co-created the show alongside Bamford. Bamford and Hill have a long creative history together; they co-founded L.A. stand-up show What's Up Tiger Lily?

Community Navigates Through A Slough Of Guest Stars

  • Boomtron
When we’re not talking about the many, many concept episodes Community has done, there’s a very specific and successful structure the sitcom has followed over the years. It’s easy to forget Community got its start with a simple three-plot formula, but “Analysis of Cork-Based Networking” should be a gentle reminder of how great that simplicity can be. While we may all rave and applaud paintball and bottle episodes, there needs to be a sense of normalcy for those more extravagant episodes to have any context. We’ve already had three concept episodes in a row, so “Networking” is a breath of fresh air needed only because to continue at the pace Community had set for itself would’ve resulted in a winded season. Think of these smaller scale episodes as necessary rest if you must, but don’t discard them as ineffective.

In fact, “Networking” is a fairly busy episode.
