Matt Damon returning as Loki in Jay and Silent Bob Reboot

As we saw in the Comic-Con trailer for Jay and Silent Bob Reboot, Matt Damon is making his return to the View Askewniverse this year for the sequel to Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, and as revealed by Kevin Smith, Damon is reprising one of his earlier roles.

No, it’s not Matt Damon / Will Hunting from Good Will Hunting 2: Hunting Season, but rather the fallen angel Loki from 1999’s Dogma.

“When we started Jay and Silent Bob Reboot, we reached out to Matt to see if he wanted to return to the scene of the crime,” writes Smith on Instagram. “When he confirmed, I started thinking about how to best use good Will Hunting and which role he could play. Then [Jennifer Schwalbach] suggested ‘Why don’t you use him as Loki?’ I scoffed like a hardcore Kevin Smith fan, replying ‘I can’t play with Loki. Loki died.

Kevin Smith discusses Val Kilmer’s Bluntman casting in Jay and Silent Bob Reboot

As revealed by Kevin Smith earlier this month, the plot of his View Askewniverse return Jay and Silent Bob Reboot will see the stoner duo setting off on another trip to Hollywood in an effort to block a “modernized” reboot of Bluntman and Chronic featuring Supergirl’s Melissa Benoist as a gender-swapped Chronic and – as we saw in the Comic-Con trailer – former Batman Val Kilmer in the role of Bluntman.

Posting on Instagram, Smith has offered some insight into how Kilmer’s cameo appearance came about and described his experience working with the actor on set as “a highlight of my 25 year career”.

Listen: ‘Drunk History’ Host Derek Waters on Why There Should Be a Law Banning TV Reboots
Derek Waters loves TV history — so much so that he even keeps a collection of old TV Guide magazines at home. As the co-creator and host of Comedy Central’s Emmy-nominated “Drunk History,” it’s perhaps no surprise that Waters reveres classic TV — particularly from his childhood era of the 1980s.

But here’s where he draws the line at nostalgia: Reboots and remakes.

“I hope some day, I’m alive to see some sort of law passed where something, be it ‘The Wizard of Oz,’ once a show or movie [has been given] some sort of accolade, it can be shut,” Waters told Variety‘s “My Favorite Episode” podcast. “You’re not allowed to touch this. Leave it alone.”

Waters’ suggestion: Just re-release a DVD of the original instead. “Don’t change it,” he added. “I’m trying to think of one thing where I’m so glad they rebooted that, and

Sam Raimi Weighs in on a Possible Drag Me To Hell Sequel

Earlier this week, Justin Long shared a concept he had for a sequel for director Sam Raimi’s crazy fun horror film Drag Me To Hell. This is a film that I would love to see a sequel for! I have no idea if it will ever happen, but Raimi was recently asked about the possibility during a recent interview with Bloody Disgusting. This is what he said:

“Oh, well, if somebody had a good story. I don’t have a story, because in my mind the character got killed, and worse. So I didn’t know how to proceed with the sequel."

Well, if he definitively killed off the main character in the movie, I can understand why we haven’t seen a sequel. See, I never really thought that the character died, so I have been thinking about a sequel!

At the end of the film, Allison Lohman

Trailer Drops For Kevin Smith’s ‘Jay And Silent Bob Reboot’

Yesterday afternoon, right as Comic-Con was getting underway for 2019, Kevin Smith went on Twitter and showcased what he’s been working on since his heart attack. Yes, we now finally have our first look at his return to the cinematic universe he created, with Jay and Silent Bob Reboot. Not only that, it’s a Red Band, with plenty of foul language intact. Fans of the filmmaker can rejoice at Smith playing with his View Askew toys once again, and for this sequel, he’s bringing in some big guns. You can see the Trailer for yourself at the end of this post, but of course, we have to discuss it a bit first… The movie is, obviously, a sequel to Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, as well as a satire of how Hollywood reboots all intellectual property these days. The synopsis, brief as it may be, comes from

Ben Affleck, Matt Damon & More Cameos Revealed in Jay & Silent Bob Reboot
The trailer for Jay & Silent Bob Reboot has finally landed and delivered a ton of cameos. Most notably though, it's the return of Ben Affleck. Smith and Affleck have worked together numerous times over the past 20+ years, but Smith recently admitted they had a bit of a falling out for a few years. When it came time to make Reboot, both Smith and Affleck had gone through quite a bit in their personal lives, which may have inspired and strengthened their reunion. However, Affleck's Holden McNeil character isn't the only cameo.

Matt Damon is back as what appears to be his Loki character from Dogma in Jay & Silent Bob Reboot. This has not been confirmed, but it's at least a nod to Loki since he's in a church and holding a bible. Jason Lee is back as Brodie Bruce from Mallrats. Lee's cameo was one of the first ones Kevin Smith

‘Jay and Silent Bob Reboot’ Trailer: Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes Get Crazy Meta
Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes’ iconic indie stoners Jay and Silent Bob are officially back in the debut trailer for this fall’s “Jay and Silent Bob Reboot.” The characters made their debut nearly 25 hours ago in Smith’s breakout 1994 indie “Clerks” and recurred in other Smith films like “Mallrats” and “Chasing Amy.” Smith wrote and directed a standalone movie for the characters called “Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back” that opened in 2001. Jay and Silent Bob last appeared in “Yoga Hosers.”

“Jay and Silent Bob Reboot” follows the title characters as they discover Hollywood is attempting to remake an old movie based on their lives. Jay and Silent Bob head out on a cross-country trip to stop the movie from being made and predictably get into an onslaught of shenanigans. Joining Smith and Mewes on screen are Rosario Dawson, Justin Long, Shannon Elizabeth, Craig Robinson, and many more.

Justin Long Would Love Do a Sequel To Sam Raimi's Drag Me To Hell and He Shares Some Ideas

One of my favorite Sam Raimi movies was his 2009 horror thriller Drag Me To Hell, which starred Alison Lohman and Justin Long. The film told such a fun horror story and I’ve always wanted to see a sequel to it, but unfortunately it didn’t really do that well at the box office. I always thought that this film could awesomely cross over with the Evil Dead franchise.

In case you need a reminder, at the end of the film, Lohman’s character Christine was was dragged down to hell as her boyfriend watched in horror. I always thought it would have been awesome if once she got down there she ran into Ash who also could have been dragged to hell and they team up to escape. That’s my idea! Justin Long, however, has a very different vision for the sequel that would obviously center around his character,
