Watch Ex Hex Shred Through ‘Cosmic Cave’ on ‘Seth Meyers’
Ex Hex returned to Late Night With Seth Meyers to perform their new blissful ripper, “Cosmic Cave.” The song appears on the band’s sophomore album, It’s Real, which was released in March.

Immersed in pink and blue-hued lights, Mary Timony sang about the dark illusions love can cause and wanting to bring those emotions into the light. “Baby come on and dance with me/Come out of your cave,” Timony, Betsy Wright and Laura Harris harmonized during the upbeat chorus. “Let’s ride on a wave.”

Directed by animator and cartoonist M. Wartella, the video brings the album art of It’s Real to life, painting over the band’s leather jackets with bursts of rainbow scribbles and blown-up, chroma-keyed heads. “I got to shine on/Through all the black and blue/I got from you/It hits so hard with all the colors that there are,

‘BlacKkKlansman’ Giveaway: Enter to Win a Prize Pack Including a Signed Movie Poster and More
Spike Lee took Cannes by storm earlier this year with “BlacKkKlansman,” his latest joint based on “some fo’ real shit” about Ron Stallworth, an African-American police officer who manages to infiltrate the Ku Klux Klan with the help of a fellow white officer in the 1970s. As IndieWire’s David Ehrlich wrote in his review, “If ‘Birth of a Nation’ was history written with lightning, ‘BlacKkKlansman’ is the roll of thunder we’ve been waiting for ever since.”

“BlacKkKlansman” is now in theaters and has already taken the box office by storm. To celebrate the film’s expansion in theaters on August 13, we’re giving away one grand prize pack, which includes a signed copy of Ron Stallworth’s book, which inspired the film; a digital download of the film’s soundtrack; and a movie poster signed by Spike Lee, John David Washington, Ron Stallworth, Topher Grace and Laura Harris.

Preggoland | Review

Maternity Syndrome: Tierney’s Undefined Comedy Explores Notions of Motherhood

What begins as a concept full of pleasurably subversive possibilities quickly turns into yet another diluted tale of female arrested development in Preggoland, revolving around an emotionally stunted woman who learns an important lesson in the nick of time, thereby exponentially enhancing her own life experience and those in her orbit. Though it’s not as obnoxiously adolescent as its Diablo Cody inspired title suggests, actress turned screenwriter Sonja Bennett’s screenplay fails to use the concept to explore the actual issues underlying her character’s inability to successfully complete the normal trajectory of her sanctioned heteronormative peer group. And so, Jacob Tiernay‘s fourth feature film becomes another one of those wanly charming comedies about how to curb one’s drifting, wayward attitude in order to gain re-admittance into the fold.

After causing a disastrous, drunken scene at her

'McFarland, USA' will close out 30th annual Santa Barbara Film Festival
A self-acknowledged "showcase for Academy Award frontrunners," the Santa Barbara International Film Festival is often overlooked for the actual films that earn it festival status. An amalgamation of international discoveries and ’merica’s circuit highlights, the Sbiff curates a week of best-of-the-best to pair with their star-praising. The 2015 edition offers another expansive selection, bookended by two films that aren’t on any radars just yet. Sbiff will open with "Desert Dancer," producer Richard Raymond’s directorial debut. Starring Reece Ritchie and Frieda Pinto, the drama follows a group of friends who wave off the harsh political climate of Iran’s 2009 presidential election in favor of forming a dance team, picking up moves from Michael Jackson, Gene Kelly and Rudolf Nureyev thanks to the magic of YouTube. The festival will close with "McFarland, USA," starring Kevin Costner and Maria Bello. Telling the 1987 true story of a Latino high school’s underdog cross-country team,

Christmas-themed disaster movies to enjoy

  • Cinelinx
If you’re at all in touch with your geek side, you already know about all the great horror movies that are Christmas-themed. Chances are you’ve stumbled across Silent Night, Deadly Night, Black Christmas, or Santa’s Slay. Everybody knows Batman Returns and Die Hard take place around December 25th. However, did you know that several disasters have occurred around the most wonderful time of the year?

Anchor Bay Entertainment and the SyFy Channel spent the past few years reminding us that even the holidays aren’t safe from catastrophic events which could bring about the end of the world. Disaster-oriented Christmas movies were becoming an annual tradition up until 2013. The two media giants banned together for three straight years to bring us a trilogy of B-movie entertainment that I think it’s high time they continue.

Ice Quake was the first of these Yuletide disaster films to hit

There's Nothing Particularly Thrilling or Dangerous About This "Snowmageddon"

If you’re going to call your film Snowmageddon, you really need to deliver on the frosty destruction above all else, but instead the made-for-tv Syfy movie gets bogged down in hapless melodrama and a contrived holiday plot that distracts what audiences want to see when they buy a film with this kind of title. Every now and then we get a few minutes of bad CGI terror as killer snowballs fall from the sky and giant spikes (what these have to do with winter or snow is beyond us) jut up from the ground, but they’re scattered throughout a story about a sparsely populated cast that we’re never given a chance to care about. Throwing in a familiar face like Laura Harris (Dead Like Me, 24) doesn’t help either since the disappointment over the weak element of destruction is quite overpowering.

‘True Blood,’ Season 4, Episode 4, ‘I’m Alive and On Fire’: TV Recap
HBO Kristin Bauer van Straten and Fiona Shaw on “True Blood.”

Fairy blood apparently does weird things to people. And we thought V was addictive. Eric is giddy and drunk, pinching Sookie’s posterior and giddily running around the front yard. King Bill is interrogating Pam at Fangtasia about Eric’s whereabouts. It’s treason to lie to a king, remember. He tells Pam she’s not supposed to think, she’s supposed to “follow protocol.” Um, you’re talking to Pam.

Unknown Blu-ray review

Death, Cab and Cuties.

I once woke up with a headache in a strange location where nobody recognised me and days were missing from my life. Turns out I was recovering from a hangover at a party I’d crashed in a student squat. Luckily, I escaped before anybody raised too much objection. Things don’t go so smoothly for Dr Martin Harris (Taken's Liam Neeson), however, in the action thriller Unknown. Somebody has stolen his life, wife and probably his Blockbuster rental card too.

Jaume Collet-Serra, who is better known for directing the pair of horror films Orphan and the appalling House of Wax, does a better job adapting Didier Van-Cauwelaert’s 2003 novel - 'Hors de moi’, (Out of my head). [And he's recently been announced as the new director of Akira - News Ed.] It’s inevitable this film will receive the usual Hitchcock/De Palma references because it’s almost a paint by numbers conspiracy thriller. There’s even a

Los Angeles, CA, United States (Ahn Entertainment) - Laurence Fishburne's aspiring porn star daughter has been ordered to pay ,000 in restitution to her assault victim Thursday. Montana Fishburne, who has apparently embarrassed her dad after starring in an adult film, pleaded no contest to assaulting her ex-boyfriend's girlfriend earlier this year.

Montana was not in court when Judge Elizabeth Harris ordered her to pay her victim's medical bills. She was represented by Shawn Holley, who told E! News that she is in full compliance with the terms of her probation.

The 19-year-old celebuspawn was charged with simple battery and false imprisonment last year after breaking into an unnamed woman's home and forcing her into the bathroom and beating her repeatedly.

She was placed on three years probation and sentenced to 90 days in jail, although she got credit for time spent at the Seacliff Recovery Center.

The Last of Montana Fishburne's 15 Minutes Involves Restitution Fees
Well, this should be the final time we hear about Montana Fishburne. Unless, of course, she decides to do something else to embarrass her dad. The porn-loving offspring of Laurence Fishburne was ordered on Thursday to pay $9,000 in restitution to the victim in her assault case. Fishburne was not in court today, but was represented by her attorney, Shawn Holley. The money is to cover the victim's medical bills, ruled Judge Elizabeth Harris, and Fishburne must send the check to the city attorney's office. Meanwhile, Holly tells E! News that Fishburne is currently in full compliance with the terms of her probation. On March 1, Fishburne pleaded no contest to assault with a deadly weapon and to...

Sid's (Robert Joy) out of the morgue again, in another difficult retrieval of the Db. He says the Cod could be anything from a few days to a few months. Shouldn't he have said Tod?
