Peter Frankenfeld was born on May 31, 1913 in Lichtenberg, Berlin, Germany as Willi Julius August Peter Frankenfeld. He was a writer and actor, known for Vergißmeinnicht (1964), Hallo Nachbarn! (1963) and Sketch-up (1984). He was married to Lonny Kellner. He died on January 4, 1979 in Hamburg, Germany.

Pioneer of German television entertainment hosting many quiz and comedy shows.
Became an interpreter with U.S. military government in Berlin after World War II.
Boxing legend Max Schmeling was his best man at this wedding (1956).
Remembered for some classic sketches such as "Die Bürgschaft" (an humbling attempt to recite Friedrich Schiller's poem) and "Die Wetterkarte" (where he speaks in a wide variety of German dialects).
The "Peter Frankenfeld-Preis" , an award for artistic variety and humanitarian engagement, was donated by his wife Lonny Kellner after his death.
