Jerry Falwell was born on August 11, 1933 in Lynchburg, Virginia, USA as Jerry Lamon Falwell. He was a writer, known for Old Time Gospel Hour (1956), The Grim Reaper (1976) and Thomas Road Live (2006). He was married to Macel Falwell. He died on May 15, 2007 in Lynchburg.

Declared that Tinky-Winky, a character on the childrens' TV show Teletubbies (1997), was in fact a homosexual, as he carries what Falwell claimed to be a purse, and was intended to subliminally indoctrinate children to accept homosexuality.
On The 700 Club (1966) he stated that the attacks on September 11, 2001, were the result of God removing a protective barrier from the United States as punishment for the nation's acceptance of homosexuals and feminists and blamed the politicians for "allowing it to happen", a sentiment that show host Pat Robertson readily agreed with. Contrary to popular belief, neither Falwell nor Robertson ever apologized.
Once claimed that the Antichrist would be a Jewish male, something he apologized for when he heard the outcry against it.
Hospitalized with pneumonia in February 2005.
Sued Penthouse magazine for publishing an interview he'd given to an independent journalist.
