In 1975, when she was 16, she auditioned as lead singer for an all-girl rock band known as The Runaways. Managed by cult Hollywood figure Kim Fowley, the jailbait quintet also featured Joan Jett on rhythm guitar and vocals and Lita Ford on lead guitar. After two years with the group (and three records), she departed for a solo career, causing problems within the band. See more »
