Rian Johnson and Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s fruitful partnership has brought us some true cinematic gems over the years, whether it’s Brick or the equally mind-bending Looper, in which Jgl plays a younger version of Bruce Willis.

So, it should come as no surprise that Johnson swung by Jgl’s ten-episode podcast, Creative Processing, while promoting new whodunnit, Knives Out. It’s a truly star-studded affair, with big names like Daniel Craig, Chris Evans (Avengers: Endgame) and Halloween‘s Jamie Lee Curtis lining the cast sheet.

But when the conversation inevitably veered towards the Star Wars universe – and The Last Jedi, in particular – Rian Johnson reflected on some of the risks he took with Episode VIII, and why he believes Tlj pushed our favorite characters toward places that were surprising, yes, but also “emotionally honest.”

I think the instant you start thinking in terms of how do you not step

At the 2019 Oscars, Rami Malek (“Bohemian Rhapsody”) won Best Actor at age 37 over a past winner and three previous nominees. Casey Affleck (“Manchester by the Sea”) did likewise in 2017. (Scroll down for the most up-to-date 2020 Oscars predictions for Best Actor.)

While Affleck won for a fictional role, Malek prevailed for portraying Queen frontman Freddie Mercury. Of the 10 most recent Best Actor champs at the Academy Awards, seven of them won for bring life to real-life fellows: Colin Firth; Daniel Day-Lewis; Matthew McConaughey; Eddie Redmayne; Leonardo DiCaprio; and Gary Oldman.

Malek was a first-time nominee while each of his four rivals in the 2019 Best Actor race had contended multiple times at the Oscars.

The literary tradition of James Bond is rooted in pulpy paperback adventures aimed at men, and the film series’ use of those recognizable titles over its first 20 years or so have carried the dramatic style

'No Time to Die' and the End of James Bond

'No Time to Die' and the End of James Bond
Daniel Craig’s final outing as 007 has finally been named with the appropriately titled No Time to Die. The announcement came Tuesday with a short video teaser that showed Craig’s dapper James Bond taking a short stroll, and then the title reveal. The 1970s-styled font of that title feels appropriately nostalgic and perhaps suggests that director Cary Fukunaga’s film will depart from some of the more modern trappings, and plodding broodiness of the last entry, Spectre (2015), and harken back to the Bond eras defined by Sean Connery and Roger Moore.

It is rumored that the film’s ...

James Bond 25 Teaser Announces Official Title: No Time to Die

The first teaser for James Bond 25 has arrived. It doesn't carry with it any actual footage from the upcoming entry in the long-running spy series. It does, however, finally confirm the movie's title. We now know James Bond will return in No Time to Die. After months, if not years, of speculating and supposed leaks of the title, it seems nobody got it right, even if some got pretty close. In any event, we now know what to call Craig's final outing os 007.

The teaser features Daniel Craig's Bond strutting in a tuxedo to the classic theme, before the camera pulls away to slowly reveal the title, which is done in a very 70s style. The whole thing is black and white, save for the gold 007 logo. A sly reference to The Man With the Golden Gun perhaps? In any event, the caption provided with the teaser on social media is also telling,

Bond 25’s Official Title Has Finally Been Revealed

Even after a teaser trailer of sorts for the next installment in the hallowed James Bond film franchise popped up online, we still didn’t have an idea of what to call the flick other than “Bond 25” – and that was as recent as June.

Fortunately, the speculation has been put to bed. As of today, we can confirm that the super spy’s next adventure for the silver screen will be titled No Time To Die. And though the announcement came via the official James Bond Twitter account, you can check out the video itself at the top of this very article.

In it, you can see a well-dressed Daniel Craig strutting into frame as the classic theme by John Barry begins playing. Soon afterward, the logo for No Time To Die is unveiled. And considering how this is likely Craig’s last contribution to the series, I’d say the title sounds highly appropriate.
