All 8 ‘Child’s Play’ Movies Ranked, Worst to Best (Photos)
It’s been 31 years since audiences first met Chucky, an adorable doll who has been possessed by the soul of a serial killer, and kids have been having nightmares ever since. It’s been a strange journey for Chucky through all the “Child’s Play” movies. He’s gone on road trips, gone to mental institutions, gone to Hollywood, and even gone to military school. And with Chucky going to an all-new franchise — even while the original series remains active — it’s time to take another look at all of the “Child’s Play” movies and see how they rank.

8. Child’s Play 3 (1991)

The worst “Child’s Play” movie (so far) has an idea so arbitrary it barely makes sense: What if a killer doll was at a teen military academy? That’s not much to work with, and although some of the kills are noteworthy — especially the paintball game

Film News Roundup: Byron Allen’s Freestyle Buys ‘American Futbol’ Soccer Documentary
In today’s film news roundup, “American Futbol” finds a distributor, Alfred Molina gets an honor, Paramount promotes Dan Cohen and Train singer Patrick Monahan gets a movie gig.

Byron Allen’s Freestyle Digital Media has acquired North American distribution rights for the documentary “American Futbol” and will release it on demand and DVD on March 12.

“American Fútbol” is a four-month adventure through Latin America with a group of American friends and filmmakers as they discover the unique power of soccer to unite people and transcend sports.

“Soccer was our passport on this journey,” said director/producer Petar Madjarac. “It helped us cross the U.S./Mexico border, bonded us to a team once run by a Colombian drug cartel; introduced us to a blind soccer team in Bogotá, and explained how soccer impacts racism in Ecuador.

The film, which was shot in the run-up to the 2014 World Cup in Brazil,

Grey's Recap: The Dating Game — Plus, Betty's Parents Descend on Grey Sloan
Though Grey’s Anatomy celebrated Valentine’s Day a week ago with Meredith and DeLuca’s first (real, deliberate, sober) kiss, their budding romance put a little spring in the step of Thursday’s episode, too. And it was much-needed, given that the arrival of Betty’s Brittany’s parents all but guaranteed that Owen and Amelia were going to lose the kids they’d taken in. How heartbreaking did it get — and, perhaps more importantly, did my new favorite couple Teddy and Koracick score any good flirt time? (Spoiler alert: Oh yeah!) Read on…

‘Outlander’ Recap: An Unlikely Couple Emerges in ‘If Not For Hope’
Spoiler Alert: Do not read if you have not yet watched “If Not For Hope,” the eleventh episode of “Outlander” Season 4.

The thrust of the action of “If Not For Hope,” the eleventh episode of “Outlander’s” fourth season centered on Brianna (Sophie Skelton) cooling her heels at River Run after the rest of her family took off in search of Roger (Richard Rankin). Brianna was content to read and sketch for the ensuing months until her parents return, but Aunt Jocasta (Maria Doyle Kennedy) had other ideas — namely, she needed to see Brianna wed before the baby arrived.

It was obvious Jocasta admired how much Bree is like the late Ellen Mackenzie, Jocasta’s older sister and mother to Jamie (Sam Heughan), who would not be forced into a marriage of convenience or political strategy. But Jocasta also couldn’t sit by and watch Bree’s child be branded a “fatherless bastard,

The Return of the King Soundtrack Is Perfect Unwinding Music

Chris Cummins Oct 22, 2018

In a time when getting through a day feels like a personal victory, Return of the King score resonates more than ever.

It's been nearly 15 years to the day since Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King first hit theaters, and movies -- to say nothing for the world itself -- have changed so much in that cosmic blink of an eye that the early aughts seem so much further away then they actually are. Time is moving at the same pace it always has, yet the rate of acceleration due to modern life feels out of whack -- as if we are all permanently stuck aboard a Scrambler carnival ride that continues to yank and thrust us through our days without ever giving us a moment to get out, stretch our legs, and unrelentingly vomit until the dizziness subsides. Such is life in 2018.

Interview: Don Mancini Talks Cult Of Chucky and the Enduring Controversy of Seed Of Chucky

  • DailyDead
It’s been amazing to watch Don Mancini shepherd the entire Child’s Play franchise for nearly 30 years now, successfully navigating these films through various eras in modern horror, all while keeping the spirit of everyone’s favorite possessed killer doll Chucky very much alive and kicking.

This week, Cult of Chucky made its debut on various formats and platforms—Blu-ray, DVD, VOD, and the rated version is also now available on Netflix—which meant it was the perfect time to post our interview with Mancini here on Daily Dead. Here’s the catch though: what follows ended up being a very spoiler-filled interview at times, just because there’s so much that I’ve long enjoyed about this franchise, and wanted to dig into a lot of different topics with Chucky’s creator while I had the opportunity.

So, if you haven’t had the chance to see Cult of Chucky just yet,

Good Guys Finish First: Don Mancini’S Durably Deranged Killer Doll Returns In Cult Of Chucky

Let’s talk memorable movie killers for a second. Since Mrs. Bates first slashed her way through the shower curtain in Room 1 of that roadside motel in Psycho (1960), franchise-minded murderers have had a hard time of it in the consistency department, regardless of how strong they may have lunged out of the gate. Established classics of the genre, like Psycho, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Halloween and Nightmare on Elm Street have all given birth to an array of sequels, remakes and reboots that may have extended their nasty protagonists’ shelf life, but none could approach their origins in terms of frights or filmmaking quality.

The exception to this rule of inconsistency and ever-diminishing returns in serial killer movie franchises seems to be the maniac who may have been the most unlikely to succeed, or certainly to endure, to begin with. He would be Charles Lee Ray (played with customary intensity

2017 – A new Resurgence in Horror

Horror seems to be making a comeback with a new wave of films now receiving both critical acclaim, as well as financial success at the box office. Just by attaching the names of writer/director James Wan or Production Company Blumhouse, seems to have enough momentum to make it a box office hit. So with the public now paying to get scared again, here are the top five horror films worth looking out for in 2017.

Death House (Release Date: Tbc)

With jump scare film franchises like The Conjuring (2013-2016) and Insidious (2010 -2018) dominating at the box office, it will take something special to change the trend, but that is something Death House is looking to initiate.

Based on an original concept by Gunnar Hansen to bring the icons of horror together the cast reflects his vision perfectly; and for any icons not featured in the original, 5 sequels are already planned for the franchise.

Exclusive Interview: Dominic Monaghan talks up new movie ‘Pet’

Dominic Monaghan, star of Lord of the Rings and Lost, stars in new creepy thriller, Pet. In Pet, Monaghan stars as Seth, a shy and reclusive young man who passes his days working at his local dog shelter. His life changes however, after a chance encounter with Holly (Ksenia Solo), an old school crush. In a bid to get closer to her he starts stalking her and devises a plan to make her his forever, and it involves a very large cage.

Things aren’t quite as they seem as this clever film subverts expectations and goes into some very interesting territory. The film premiered in the UK at Frightfest last summer, and whilst there, we sat down with Monaghan to get a deeper perspective on the film.

Apart from Pet, what is your favourite scary movie?

My favourite scary movie in recent years is definitely Let the Right One in.
