Stan sets premiere for third series of Us ‘No Activity’

The third season of the Us adaptation of Stan’s original comedy No Activity commissioned by CBS All Access will premiere on Stan on November 21.

Co-creator Patrick Brammall and Tim Meadows return as detectives Nick Cullen and Judd Tolbeck, who are back in uniform after last season’s disastrous bust.

There is a revolving door of quirky new partners and even quirkier criminals while robots edge in on Janice (Amy Sedaris) and Fatima (Sunita Mani) in dispatch.

Also returning are Jason Mantzoukas as undercover FBI agent Marco and Oscar winner J.K. Simmons as Leon, the internal affairs investigator with a fondness for deep sea fishing.

The guest stars include Beth Behrs (The Neighbourhood), Joe Keery (Stranger Things), Keegan-Michael Key (Dolemite Is My Name), Dylan McDermott (American Horror Story) and Paula Pell (Stan’s A.P. Bio).

In today’s TV news roundup, Netflix unveiled the premiere dates for its upcoming holiday programming and the CW renewed “The Outpost.”

Netflix has announced the release dates for all of its upcoming holiday series and films. Beginning Nov. 1, the streaming service will kick off the holiday season with “Holiday in the Wild” starring Kristin Davis and Rob Lowe. Other Netflix original titles include “Let it Snow” starring Isabela Merced, Shameik Moore, Kiernan Shipka, Odeya Rush, Jacob Batalon, Miles Robbins, Mitchell Hope, Liv Hewson, Anna Akana and Joan Cusack, premiering Nov. 8; “The Great British Baking Show: Holidays: Season 2″ premiering Nov. 8; “Klaus “ starring J.K. ‘No Activity’ Gets Season 3 Premiere Date on CBS All Access

CBS All Access has slotted Thursday, November 21 for the Season 3 premiere of ts original comedy series No Activity.

Season 3 picks up following last season’s disastrous bust, with detectives Nick Cullen (Patrick Brammall) and Judd Tolbeck (Tim Meadows) back in uniform with a revolving door of quirky new partners and even quirkier criminals, while robots edge in on Janice (Amy Sedaris) and Fatima (Sunita Mani) in dispatch.

Based on the Stan original series produced by Jungle, the series is co-developed and executive produced by Brammell and Trent O’Donnell. It stars Brammall and Meadows as Sdpd detectives, who in season 2 were found staking out the seedy underbelly of a cockfighting ring as the Sdpd was rocked by a massive corruption scandal.

Schooled has a new principal. Deadline reports The Kids Are Alright creator Tim Doyle has been named as the new showrunner for the ABC TV show.

Set in the '90s, the comedy series follows Lainey Lewis (Aj Michalka) and the faculty of William Penn Academy. ‘Schooled': ‘The Kids Are Alright’ Creator Tim Doyle to Take Over as Showrunner for Season 2
The Kids Are Alright” creator Tim Doyle will take over as showrunner on ABC’s “The Goldbergs” spinoff “Schooled,” TheWrap has confirmed.

Doyle, whose previous ABC series was canceled after one season back in May, will take over the Sony Pictures Television-ABC Studios co-production for its second season this fall. He steps in for series co-creator Marc Firek, who is exiting the comedy to focus on other projects.

Schooled” is set to return for its second season on Wednesday, Sept. 25 following the Season 7 return of “The Goldbergs.”

‘Kids Are Alright’ Creator Joins ‘Schooled’ Season 2 as Showrunner
Tim Doyle is taking over as showrunner and executive producer on the upcoming second season of “Schooled” at ABC, Variety has confirmed.

Doyle takes over from Season 1 showrunner and series co-creator Marc Firek, who has exited the series to focus on development. The news comes just months after Doyle’s 1970s-set comedy series, “The Kids Are Alright,” was canceled by ABC after one season. That show was inspired by Doyle’s own childhood, with Doyle also serving as the narrator on the series. Doyle is currently under an overall deal at ABC Studios. He previously served as showrunner on the multi-cam comedy “Last Man Standing” while it was at ABC, and also worked on ABC comedies like “Dr. Ken” and “Speechless.”
