Iris Berben was born on August 12, 1950 in Detmold, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. She is an actress, known for Rosa Roth (1994), Krupp: A Family Between War and Peace (2009) and Silberhochzeit (2006).

Mother of Oliver Berben.
Was on the cover of "Time" magazine as one of 36 "European heroes 2003". She was honoured as an ambassador for Christian-Jewish understanding (April 2003).
She has lived with businessman Gabriel Lewy since 1974. They run several cafes and restaurants in Munich and Berlin.
Received the "Bayerischer Verdienstorden" (highest Bavarian order) (14 July 2005).
Announced her separation from Gabriel Lewy (June 2006).
