‘Game of Thrones,’ ‘Avengers’ Win Big at 45th Annual Saturn Awards
As Jamie Lee Curtis picked up her first trophy ever at the 45th Annual Saturn Awards Friday night, she had a good luck charm on her arm: former manager Chuck Binder, whom she said was the reason she became an actor.

“I was in college and had no thought of being an actor,” Curtis told Variety ahead of her best actress win for “Halloween.” “I came home from college at Christmas, and an old friend of mine who used to be a tennis teacher was managing actors. He said, ‘They’re looking for Nancy Drew. Do you want to go up for it? And I was like, ‘Sure.’”

Although Curtis didn’t get the part, she was hooked, and after a series of wins and losses, she landed the role that kicked off her career. “I ended up with an [acting] contract at Universal Studios,” she continued. “I quit college, and

Avengers: Endgame used CGI suits because of a rushed schedule

Visual Effects Producer Jen Underdahl has revealed that Avengers: Endgame used CGI Quantum Suits because of a tight schedule.

These days, there isn’t a blockbuster without a huge amount of CGI involved to bring its fantastical moments and exciting scenes to life. But CGI is also used in more subtle ways to help out the filmmakers.

On Avengers: Endgame, because of its rushed schedule, they even had to CGI the time suits that the heroes wore as there wasn’t the time to do it practically. Speaking to Wired, Visual Effects Producer Jen Underdahl said:

“The time suits are a combination of Ant-Man, Tony Stark, and Guardians tech. That took quite a while for us to land on. By the time we got a final version, we were already in Principal Photography. We knew we were going to build them anyway, since they had to ‘nano’ on and off with Tony’s tech,

Deadpool Will Cameo In Multiple McU Movies And TV Shows

Marvel received a lot of lucrative new properties thanks to the Disney/Fox merger giving them the rights to the X-Men and the Fantastic Four. Perhaps the one with the most immediate potential though is Deadpool. Unlike the other characters, they don’t have to recast the Merc with a Mouth. They just need to bring Ryan Reynolds back to stab holes through the fourth wall – and criminals – and fans will be happy.

It’s no surprise, then, that we’re hearing Marvel hopes to make the most of the antihero by scattering Deadpool throughout the McU. We Got This Covered has been informed by our sources – the same ones who told us John Wesley Shipp was returning for “Crisis on Infinite Earths,” which has since been confirmed – that the studio wants Dp to have a major presence in the franchise. As well as giving him another solo movie, there

Avengers: Endgame screenwriters explain why Captain Marvel only had a small role in the movie

While she was featured prominently on the marketing material, Brie Larson’s Carol Danvers had to settle for a fairly minor role in Avengers: Endgame as Captain Marvel joined Earth’s Mightiest Heroes in the fight against Thanos.

Speaking to Vanity Fair following the home-entertainment release of Endgame, screenwriters Stephen McFeely and Christopher Markus have explained why they kept Carol’s role to a minimum, revealing that they didn’t want to shift focus from the six original Avengers – particularly as Captain Marvel is such a powerful character.

“She was always going to be in it but we didn’t have much to go on,” said Markus. “They had cast her and that was it. It is a tough balance to strike when you have a character that powerful who you’re going to bring in, and you don’t want it to seem like, well we just brought in

Warner Bros. Reportedly Planning To Reboot Jonah Hex

The heroes in DC’s library aren’t all super-powered vigilantes in costumes. In fact, one of the most popular figures who breaks the mold is Jonah Hex, the disfigured cowboy antihero who protects the old west. The character’s already had two different iterations on the big and small screens over the past ten years and, according to our intel, there may be a third on the way in the near future.

We Got This Covered has heard from our sources – the same ones who told us Black Mask will be gay in Birds of Prey and that Viola Davis was returning for The Suicide Squad, both of which have since been confirmed – that Warner Bros. is planning on rebooting Jonah Hex. At the moment, though, they’re not sure whether they want to go in the direction of making another movie or doing a TV show centered around the outlaw.

Avengers: Endgame co-director thinks Robert Downey Jr. deserves the Best Actor Oscar

Over the past couple of years, we’ve seen a handful of superhero movies getting some recognition from Oscar voters outside of the usual technical categories (see the likes of Logan and Black Panther), and given its success at Venice, it seems that DC Films’ Joker could find itself right in the mix come awards season.

Marvel’s hopes of this year look to rest on the shoulders of Avengers: Endgame, although despite the fact it broke just about every box office record on its way to becoming the highest-grossing movie ever, there seems to be little in the way of Oscar buzz surrounding the big climax to the Infinity Saga.

Speaking to The Daily Beast about the film’s Academy Award chances, co-director Joe Russo has thrown his support behind Robert Downey Jr. for Best Actor for his final performance as Tony Stark:

“We don’t make movies for awards.

Jonah Hex Confirmed To Return For Crisis On Infinite Earths

At this point, I really shouldn’t be surprised by any casting announcements pertaining to “Crisis on Infinite Earths,” but I must say that I somewhat am when it comes to today’s bit of news. My reason for saying that is because I simply didn’t consider characters from further back on the timeline putting in appearances. And when I say “further back,” I really mean it.

Believe it or not, Johnathon Schaech will once again suit up as the badass bounty hunter known as Jonah Hex for the gargantuan crossover event. Having appeared several times before during past seasons of Legends of Tomorrow, it probably wasn’t too hard for the producers to get him to come back for another go-round.

At the time of this writing, no other details regarding Hex’s involvement have been provided. For all we know, he could be a doppelganger from another universe.

Tom Holland says Spider-Man’s Avengers: Infinity War death wasn’t entirely improvised

Tom Holland, the actor behind Spider-Man, says that the character’s death in Avengers: Infinity War wasn’t entirely improvised.

Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame had plenty of memorable moments. One of the ones that stands out the most, however, is Spider-Man’s temporary death in Infinity War, dying in Iron Man’s arms.

In a recent video for GQ, Holland saw a Twitter post that mentioned the scene, mentioning that it was improvised. Holland responded to this and revealed exactly how this moment came about:

“It is improvised, because basically we did a long improvise and it wasn’t great. But it sparked a great idea, and then we reworked the scene and then this was born. So, it is kind of improvised, and a technique I do if I’m trying to cry is I’ll say the phrase over and over again. So for example, if

Images From Marvel's Animated What If...? Series Show Zombie Captain America, T'Challa as Star-Lord and More

Some images have surfaced from Marvel Studios upcoming animated What If…? series. Having seen footage from this at D23, I’m super excited for what this show is going to deliver. I enjoyed the footage that was screened and these images features some of that footage.

The series will include most of the McU cast reprising their roles in the series, which will examine the 23 past films in the McU, but each of the stories will feature one key difference showing how the story would have played out differently. The Watcher is the narrator of the series, and he will be voiced by Jeffrey Wright.

The images you’ll see below feature T'Challa As Star-Lord; Zombie Captain America facing off with Bucky Barnes; Skinny Steve Rogers in a tank and watching as Peggy Carter is transformed into Captain Carter; and there’s a shot of Captain Carter riding on the

Thanos Before Brolin: Avengers Set Photos Show Original Mad Titan Actor

  • MovieWeb
There was a time in the McU when Thanos was not portrayed by Hollywood superstar and Oscar nominated actor Josh Brolin. Back when we first caught a glimpse of the Mad Titan in 2012's Avengers, he was played in costume by Damion Poitier. Today, we have a look at Poitier in his glorious purple makeup thanks to Ironhead Studios.

Josh Brolin wore a motion capture suit and was mostly rendered in CGI for his appearances in the McU. That wasn't initially the case with Damion Poitier, who wore a practical costume and make-up on set for the very first, very short scene featuring the iconic villain. Ironhead Studios says this about the images they have just shared.

"Here's a look back to 2011 at some behind the scenes photos capturing Thanos from the set of The Avengers. Jose designed and sculpted the makeup as well as the helmet and armor. The

Robert Downey Jr. on his Marvel Cinematic Universe exit

Robert Downey Jr. on his Marvel Cinematic Universe exit
As promised by Marvel in the build up to the release of Avengers: Endgame, the superhero blockbuster marked the end of several characters’ time in the McU – most notably Robert Downey Jr.’s Tony Stark and Chris Evans’ Captain America.

Downey, who was integral to the launch of the Marvel Cinematic Universe with 2008’s Iron Man, has been chatting to D23 Magazine about his eleven-year odyssey, during which he revealed that he felt Endgame was the right time for him and his fellow Avenger to get off the Marvel train:

“We had to get off,” said Downey. “We opted to, and knew it was part of the job to get off the bus while it rolled on to other destinations. There’s something very sobering about it. I’m glad [Chris] and I will be there to welcome others as they retire their jerseys.”

Blu-ray Review – Avengers: Endgame (2019)

Avengers: Endgame, 2019.

Directed by Anthony Russo and Joe Russo

Starring Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Benedict Cumberbatch, Don Cheadle, Tom Holland, Chadwick Boseman, Paul Bettany, Elizabeth Olsen, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Danai Gurira, Letitia Wright, Dave Bautista, Zoe Saldana, Josh Brolin, and Chris Pratt.

This phase of the McU comes to a satisfying conclusion with Avengers: Endgame. If you’ve come this far, you can’t quit now, right? The film is an enjoyable ride that doesn’t feel like it’s three hours long, and the bonus features do a nice job of looking back on the past 20-plus movies.

And thus one of cinema’s most stunning achievements draws to a close. Just like any great TV series, the 11 years of movies that preceded Avengers: Endgame had their ups and downs, but the finale had to stay true to what came before,
