Ghost Hunters: Exclusive First Look at the Return

Aaron Sagers Aug 20, 2019

Get your first look at the return of Ghost Hunters in this exclusive clip!

Fifteen years ago, Ghost Hunters premiered on Sci-Fi Channel and ushered in an era of paranormal reality television. Co-led by Grant Wilson and Jason Hawes, the series initially followed the plumbers-by-day, paranormal investigators by night, as their team set out to explore, validate, or debunk reports of hauntings.

While not the first attempt at an investigative style series, it established a formula that inspired an entire entertainment genre. Coinciding with the rise of social media, Ghost Hunters distinguished itself by focusing on human stories, with series leads that were family men, and a team that possessed a blue-collar ethic. In many ways, Ghost Hunters resembled a reality-tv adaptation of Ghostbusters (an observation confirmed by Dan Aykroyd to me years ago when he said the show was “no doubt” inspired by the film). The

‘Love, Gilda’ Director Lisa D’Apolito On Her Emmy-Nominated Doc And A Long-Lost Gilda Radner Screenplay: “It’s A Great Script”
The director of the Emmy-nominated documentary Love, Gilda says a previously unknown film script written by the late Gilda Radner could soon make the rounds in Hollywood.

“She left behind a screenplay which I have that nobody seems to have even known about,” filmmaker Lisa D’Apolito tells Deadline exclusively. “I’m actually working with my agents to see who would be interested in producing it.”

D’Apolito revealed some plot details to Deadline.

“It’s about a woman looking for love and she’s torn between these two guys. And then at the end she decides she just is going to be on her own. Not to sum it up in that sort of way, but it’s physical comedy,” she explains. “Hopefully once the word gets out [about the script]…her work can go on.”

The Unmade Steven Spielberg Movies You Never Saw

Mark Harrison Aug 9, 2019

From E.T. II to Robopocalypse, here are some of the most interesting movies Steven Spielberg never made…

This article comes from Den of Geek UK.

Having excelled in both the artistic and commercial side of American cinema for almost 50 years, Steven Spielberg knows how to get a movie made. Showing no signs of slowing down, the director has 33 feature films under his belt to date and many other films where he’s credited as a producer, including those made by his companies Amblin Entertainment and DreamWorks Pictures.

Some of those films include projects he was originally intended to direct but were eventually set up for other filmmakers to helm, including Rain Man, Big Fish, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, American Sniper, and Interstellar, to name a few. Inevitably, we’re more tantalized by the projects that never came to fruition and the stories behind their

10 Ways That Ghostbusters (2016) Was Better Than The Original Movies

In 1984, Ghostbusters hit theatres and captivated a generation with its signature charm and humor that would be considered iconic in the years to come. Starring Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis, and Ernie Hudson as the main cast's fantastic four, the film is regarded as a timeless classic today.

1989 would bring the release of the slightly-inferior Ghostbusters 2, which featured more misadventures from our favorite unlikely heroes. Both Ghostbusters films are undoubtedly classics, but one thing that ages them terribly is Annie Potts's role.

Potts portrays Janine Melnitz, who serves at the gang's secretary. She definitely put on an unforgettable performance, but the position of the character contributed to tired and toxic stereotypes nonetheless. This is where the magic of the highly underrated 2016 reboot of Ghostbusters comes in.

This era is chock-full of very unnecessary remakes and reboots, but Ghostbusters (2016) stands apart.

Bo Report: ‘The Lion King’ reigns as Stephen Amis’ Sea Shepherd doc sails in

‘Defend, Conserve, Protect.’

Disney’s The Lion King roared through its second weekend in Australia as the studio smashed its own annual global box office record set in 2016 last weekend.

Meanwhile Defend, Conserve, Protect, Stephen Amis’ feature doc which examines the long-running campaign to stop Japanese fishermen killing whales in the Southern Ocean, opened on seven screens in limited sessions.

Narrated by Dan Aykroyd and produced by Amis, Sea Shepherd Australia MD Jeff Hansen and Sea Shepherd colleague Omar Todd, the film fetched an estimated $7,200 but had already netted $37,000 from about 40 advance screenings and festivals.

The executive producer, Label Distribution’s Tait Brady, is happy with the reviews and media coverage and says the film will play through the end of the year with screenings for activists and community groups, after which he will negotiate ancillary deals.

He offered the film to several sales agents but they were wary of the anti-whaling stance.
