Not to be confused with a gymnast, the wide-eyed effervescent journalist Sally Albright, as could only be played by Meg Ryan, is by far one of the most dynamic and lovable female writer characters ever created for the big screen by a woman writer, Nora Ephron! While the film does not focus on Sally's career, it very accurately captures the magnetic and unpredictable nature that is woman, especially a woman who writes!

Even though the movie is about the oldest daughter, it does feature a happily married woman writer as a character -- and that's rare in the world of women who write!
