German production company Neue Constantin bought the rights for The Fantastic Four for about $250,000 in 1983 and then sat on them until 1992. Faced with the expiration of the agreement and needing to actually make a film in order to retain their rights, they slapped together a hasty, low-budget product in under a month. Helmed by the French duo that brought us the disturbing film INSIDE, 2011’s LIVID played a handful of festivals around the globe. The story follows a convalescent nurse as she and some friends break into the home of an elderly, disabled patient in hopes of robbing the place. They soon discover that the house holds some very dark, supernatural secrets. Once LIVID gained minor acclaim in the US, the remake and international distribution rights were purchased by The Weinstein Company. They are apparently holding the release of the original French film with the intention of eventually remaking the movie in the states. Thus, LIVID has sadly never been released, even 5 years after its initial festival run.

So he sets up a completely self-sufficient ecosystem in his apartment, sealing himself off from the outside world. Eventually, his wife and kids return home from a trip, but then it becomes hard to tell what is real and what is just in the scientist’s degraded mind. The final moments of this movie are intense and will stick with you! Though it is available in Europe (even playing on some overseas HULUs), it has never been released stateside.

This Spanish film is a refreshing and innovative take on the werewolf myth. It treats the werewolf-ism like a disease that is passed from person to person, but it is presented against a small Spanish town that can only see it as a supernatural curse. Think like MARTIN but with a werewolf.

A white man goes on trial for having raped a black woman.

The film was considered lost for more than 30 years, until clips showed up in a Directors Guild of America tribute to Pryor in 2005. The Magic 7 is an animated television film written and directed by Roger Holzberg. It centers on the adventures of two children and a dragon as they fight the arch-enemies of Earth. It was originally slated to air on Earth Day (April 22) in 1997, but was postponed. After later plans for a 2005 release, the film was once again suspended. Production on the film began in 1990 and has been delayed three times. Pulse Entertainment and Distribution, under the direction of CEO Ron Layton, bought the rights to The Magic 7 in 1995 with the intention of fully producing the animation. However, insufficient funds were raised and the project was eventually shelved until the early 2000s, when interest was reignited in it.

Votes: 83

The film began shooting in Kyrgyzstan in 1991, which was still part of the Soviet Union at that time. During the production process, the producers were concerned about the material filmed so far, and developed a new screenplay which included new material on Khan's childhood, they also replaced original director Tolomush Okeyev with Peter Duffell who left the project shortly afterwards to be replaced by Ken Annakin. By the time the majority of filming was completed, the Soviet Union had started to collapse and the cast and crew were recalled to their respective embassies. Post-production therefore was unable to be completed until 2010 when Madison Motion Pictures Group purchased the rights to the original footage, with the intention to release it in 2010 as "Genghis Khan: The Story of a Lifetime", as both a 2-hour feature film and 6-hour TV series (both director Ken Annakin and first unit director Antonio Margheriti were to be credited as co-directors.
