1. The Outer Limits (1963–1965)
TV-PG | 51 min | Fantasy, Horror, Sci-Fi
An anthology series of insightful science fiction tales.
It all started with The Twilight Zone and was still awesome.
2. The Haunted House (1921)
Unrated | 21 min | Short, Comedy, Horror
A bank clerk ends up in a seemingly haunted house that is actually a thieves' hideout.
Fantastic short all round. The money and glue, ascent, descent to real life, the haunted house itself, I actually laughed more watching this than any modern comedy. They should re-release these kinda films for the younger generation to appreciate or a reminder for the older. This is a timeless piece that will be mouth marketed by me.
3. Blithe Spirit (1945)
Not Rated | 96 min | Comedy, Fantasy
Charles (Sir Rex Harrison) and his second wife, Ruth (Constance Cummings), are haunted by the spirit of his first wife, Elvira (Kay Hammond). Medium Madame Arcati (Dame Margaret Rutherford) tries to help things out by contacting the ghost.
What a fun, old movie to watch. Funny, quirky and a script to match. This is one I'd watch again.
4. Now, Voyager (1942)
Approved | 117 min | Drama, Romance
A frumpy spinster blossoms under therapy and becomes an elegant, independent woman.
Fantastic performance as you would expect. It was different for the doctor to be on the younger side in those days. Great transformation of Davis' character only to realise it's on the surface.
5. Homicidal (1961)
Unrated | 88 min | Horror, Mystery, Thriller
The brutal stabbing murder of a justice-of-the-peace sparks an investigation of dark family secrets in a sleepy small town in Southern California.
Normal B&W thriller with a psycho feel to it. Performances and story great but it's to be expected with a William Castle film. What an ending though, that was strong. Looking forward to watching it again.
6. You'll Find Out (1940)
Approved | 97 min | Comedy, Horror, Musical
The manager of Kay Kyser's band books them for a birthday party bash for an heiress at a spooky mansion, where sinister forces try to kill her.
I watched this film as a kid and so enjoyed it so watched it again as an adult. Of course it didn't charm me in the same way but it was enjoyable to watch Karloff, Lugosi and the fantastic Lorre in action together. Excellent band especially the introduction of the sonograph which Kanye West killed and the electrocution stands were quite scary. Lots to see in this film I guess.
7. Spooks Run Wild (1941)
Approved | 65 min | Horror, Comedy
The boys are sent to a mountain camp. Stranded in a small rural town, they hear about a "monster killer" roaming the countryside. At night, they sneak out. Peewee is shot by a grave-digger,... See full summary »
It was okay. Just nice to watch a non violent movie for a change with spooks running about. Also liked the fact that it was all for entertainment purposes opposed to killings!
8. Ghosts on the Loose (1943)
Approved | 67 min | Comedy
The East Side Kids try to fix up a house for newlyweds, but find the place next door "haunted" by mysterious men.
The East Side Kids at their best. Just fun watching them run around being crazy and such a fun, meaningful, different ending.
9. Hold That Ghost (1941)
Passed | 86 min | Adventure, Comedy, Music
After inheriting a fortune from a gangster, two dim-witted service station attendants find themselves stranded in a haunted house.
I like that there was a girl just as ditzy and awkward comedy-wise, especially dancing with the bucket. Good all round, obligatory house with secret panels that no one else but 1 can see and so well acted out as per.
10. The Ghost Breakers (1940)
Passed | 85 min | Comedy, Horror, Mystery
A radio broadcaster, his quaking manservant and an heiress investigate the mystery of a haunted castle in Cuba.
With the obligatory black guy who is always scared and drunk guy getting it all wrong. It started off as a romantic comedy and didn't get to the ghost breaking bit until after over half the film had run. All in all it was a great watch with misdirection, laughs, scares and zombies included.
11. The Old Dark House (1932)
Not Rated | 72 min | Comedy, Horror, Thriller
Seeking shelter from a storm, five travelers are in for a bizarre and terrifying night when they stumble upon the Femm family estate.

It's amazing how I look forward to watching an old B&W film only to realise within 10 mins that I've seen it. I'm so eclectic! As a horror film it was great, but I especially wanted to watch a comedy type horror of that genre and it didn't have that aspect so obviously I was a little annoyed. Great stunts for that time and OTT acting.
12. The 3 Worlds of Gulliver (1960)
Not Rated | 99 min | Adventure, Family, Fantasy
After being shipwrecked, a man finds himself on an island inhabited by tiny people, who soon make plans for him.
IMDb has this as an animation, it isn't! Didn't like the book there was just too much descriptions and the film from 2010 was rubbish. This was okay but not enough to keep me interested. The special effects were awesome though.
13. The Gorilla (1939)
Passed | 66 min | Comedy, Horror
When a wealthy man is threatened by a killer known as The Gorilla, he hires the Ritz Brothers to investigate. A real escaped gorilla shows up at the mansion just as the investigators arrive.
Fantastic start with the animated scared woman. After that it was okay but nothing really exciting.
14. King of the Zombies (1941)
Passed | 67 min | Adventure, Comedy, Horror
On a spooky island, three stranded travelers find an evil doctor working with foreign spies and in control of zombies.
Run of the mill yarn, only the obligatory black guy gave it jokes.
