by pencritical | created - 06 Aug 2012 | updated - 14 Mar 2018 | Public

I get tired of seeing the same old people over and over again. This is a list of actors that don't get a lot of roles but should be more utilized (imho). This is in no particular order, just as I think of them. You may agree or maybe not, but if you haven't seen them maybe you should check them out.

1. Peter Facinelli

Actor | The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1

Peter Facinelli was born in Queens, New York, the youngest child of Bruna (Reich) and Pierino Facinelli, a waiter. His parents are Italian immigrants, originally from Trentino, Northern Italy. He has three sisters. Peter was educated at St. Francis Preparatory School in Fresh Meadows, New York, and...

He's cute and talented. I think he deserves better roles.

2. Dakota Fanning

Actress | War of the Worlds

Hannah Dakota Fanning was born on the 23rd of February 1994, in Conyers, Georgia, USA, to Heather Joy (Arrington) and Steven Fanning. Her mother played professional tennis, and her father, now an electronics salesman, played minor league baseball. She is of German, Irish, English, French, and ...

Many child stars are cast aside because they aren't cute anymore and they never had any talent. Dakota has been sort of cast aside and I have no idea why. She is beautiful and she has more talent in her little finger than many of the leading ladies of her age group that I watch stumble across the silver screen today. Not casting her in starring roles she is suited for now is a serious waste.

3. Sean Bean

Actor | The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring

Sean Bean's career since the eighties spans theatre, radio, television and movies. Bean was born in Handsworth, Sheffield, South Yorkshire, to Rita (Tuckwood) and Brian Bean. His family moved to the South Island of New Zealand in 1954. He went to boarding schools and then attended the universities ...

He's been in a lot of movies, but other than Jurassic Park, most are B grade or worse with lousy scripts and no budget. I'd like to see him do some roles like Anthony Hopkins gets. I think he'd be great.

5. Peter Dinklage

Actor | Game of Thrones

Peter Dinklage is an American actor. Since his breakout role in The Station Agent (2003), he has appeared in numerous films and theatre plays. Since 2011, Dinklage has portrayed Tyrion Lannister in the HBO series Game of Thrones. For this he won an Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama ...

He really has impressed me on the Game of Thrones. Would love to see more of him on the big screen.

6. Abigail Breslin

What can I say, he's gorgeous, he commands your attention on the screen, and he has talent, though it is raw and still needs work. Can't wait to see where it is in ten years or so.

10. Rutina Wesley

Actress | True Blood

Rutina Wesley is known for the character Tara Thorton, on the gritty Southern vampire drama, True Blood (2008). She was born in the city most renowned for glitz and glamour, Las Vegas, Nevada and was exposed to the arts at a very early age; in fact entertainment runs through her veins. Her father, ...

She may not have had a role in the Sookie Stackhouse books, but True Blood, the series, would have been a lesser show without her role as Tara, Sookie's childhood friend. She was a joy to watch. I loved her. I'd love to see her in something else.

11. Hugh Laurie

Actor | House M.D.

Hugh was born in Oxford, England on June 11, 1959, to Patricia (Laidlaw) and William George Ranald Mundell "Ran" Laurie, a doctor, both of Scottish descent. He was educated at Eton and Cambridge. Son of an Olympic gold medalist in the sport, he rowed for the England youth team (1977) and for ...

Wentworth Earl Miller III was born June 2, 1972 in Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire, England, to American parents, Joy Marie (Palm), a special education teacher, and Wentworth Earl Miller...

Something besides "The Flash". He's wasted in the role of Mr. Cold, or whatever it is they call him.

13. Hugh Bonneville

Actor | Notting Hill

One of the most talented actors alive today. Period.

His mother, Leah (Cohn), was a homemaker. His ancestry includes English, German, Finnish, Russian Jewish, and Austrian Jewish, ...

I liked him as McSteamy on Grey's Anatomy, but really love him as Chandler on the The Last Ship, though the show itself is a bit one dimensional. I'll keep watching just to watch Eric.

15. Kate Walsh

Actress | The Perks of Being a Wallflower

Kate Walsh was born in San Jose, California, on October 13, 1967. She grew up partly in San Jose and partly in Tucson, Arizona, later attending the University of Arizona, where she got involved in regional theater. 16. Aaron Paul

He attended Centennial High School in Boise, Idaho. It was there, in eighth grade, that Aaron ...

Love, Love, Love this guy. Not crazy about his new show, but it isn't his acting I don't like, it's the scripts (and Michelle Monaghan annoys me greatly). It's a boring show -- but I've only watched a couple episodes. I will give anything he's in a chance though.

17. Lennie James

Actor | The Walking Dead

Lennie James was born in Nottingham to Trinidadian parents, and grew up in South London. His mother, Phyllis Mary James, died when he was 12. Lennie and his older brother went into a council children's home. When he was 16 he was fostered with a social worker who had two older children, and they ...

Very versatile actor, and it doesn't hurt that he's nice to look at. I loved his role as the Governor in TWD. I think he's ready for a more central role.

19. Samira Wiley

At age ...

Anyone as beautiful as this who can pull off a role as someone as ugly and unlovable as Pennsatucky (Orange is the New Black) has some serious talent. I hate Pennsatucky, most of the time, but then, I'm supposed to, aren't I?

21. Stephen Moyer

Actor | True Blood

Stephen Moyer's passion for acting began in local theatre in Brentwood & Chelmsford, Essex where he also made a name for himself with his own theatre company "The Reject Society". I never watched Dharma and Greg, but I watched Thomas on Criminal Minds until he screwed up, kicked a writer and was fired. I'm not saying he didn't deserve it, but without him the show sucks. Perhaps he was a dick all the time, I don't know, but I wish, if he's learned his lesson, they'd bring him back or someone else would hire him. He's fun to watch and I miss Criminal Minds -- I don't watch it anymore.

Okay, I feel a little bit like a pervert for saying this, because i'm old enough to be his mother, but this young grandson of the later, great, Steve McQueen, is gloriously gorgeous and he's not half bad at acting either. I thought he was a much better actor than the female star of the Vampire Diaries, Nina (Dobrev I think), whose brother he played. He also did a short stint on Chicago Fire where he played a guy who goes a little nuts with grief and destroys himself. Great job with that. I'd like to see him as the lead in something with action.

32. Nelsan Ellis

Actor | The Butler

Nelsan Ellis was an award-winning American film and television actor and playwright, perhaps best known as Lafayette Reynolds on HBO's True Blood (2008).
