For two nights in 2012, Rammstein sold out two consecutive shows at the historic Bercy Arena in Paris. Documented by over 20 cameras, this high energy show from the bands greatest hits tour, called Made in Germany 1995-2011, captures 22 songs with mind bending theatrics such as flame throwers and a mesmerizing light show.
First off, Rammstein delivers as always, With a show that no other bands get close to.
I would give Rammstein max stars, But sadly the editing is so over the top and like a kid has gone mental in sony vegas.
Rammstein don't need lightning, snake eyes/tongues, breathe flames etc edited in... They already deliver a over the top show, And then all these CGI effects are added? It makes the DVD look clumsy and not really a live experience, cause it is so edited.
Not only that, But its chaotic, They change the camera angle almost after every word in the lyrics, Not only is it annoying and tiring to watch, But it makes you miss many of the highlight parts, cause camera is constantly changing or stuff is edited in some silly way so you cant see what is going on.
Slow motion and all that it looks great when its not overdone and the sound seems good. But a huge letdown is the edited explosion sounds, Where is the power and the sound of the blasts? For most parts you only hear a little bang with some glass breaking. Their explosions are way louder and hard hitting then that.
On some of the songs the lightning is so dark due to editing so you cant even see if there is a crowd there, Even when the stage have all their lights on, You can see this during links 234, Till sings links, Crowd sings, Lights blasts the stage, But no crowd to see, cause they have used a blue/dark filter over the whole movie.
So again, Rammstein does a perfect job as always, Jonas & Co did not, They destroyed what could have been a concert DVD with as show the world has never seen, But you were more interested in fancy editing.
But it was worth the watch and i will watch it many times.
