Christine "Lady Bird" MacPherson is a high school senior from the "wrong side of the tracks." She longs for adventure, sophistication, and opportunity, but finds none of that in her Sacramento Catholic high school. LADY BIRD follows the title character's senior year in high school, including her first romance, her participation in the school play, and most importantly, her applying for college. Written by
Lady Bird directed by Greta Gerwig ( liked her in Maggie's plan) is a simple story about a simple senior high school girl Christine known as 'Lady Bird' ( played very well by Saoirse Ronan ) who wants to get out of Sacramento and live somewhere on east coast. Lady Bird's mom Marion (superb acting by Laurie Metcalf known for playing sheldon's mom in Big Bang Theory) , dad Larry ( good acting by Tracy Letts), brother miguel(actor jordan rodrigues) are a supportive family for Lady Bird who wants more from life. Saoirse Ronan did very well as Lady Bird who has a head on her shoulders and is confident that east coast has everything that Sacramento lacks. She lives her senior year with enthusiasm and looks forward to fulfilling her dream. She understands her dad's depression and appreciates her mom who is hardworking, affectionate and loving. Greta Gerwig's direction is commendable . Oscarworthy acting by Saoirse Ronan and Laurie Metcalf. Good screenplay.
