Felt like it would never end and the title is a lie
Here we got the BET Awards 2015 and this is the 2015 edition of an annual awards show, in which America's black stars from film and music mostly honor their finest. I want to say that Ioppose the idea of an award show that shuts people out because of their ethnicity, color or origins, but that's all I will say about the general idea and concept of this show. Lets focus now on the 2015 edition. I guess there was one moment that summarized perfectly how much this one matters, namely Nicki Minaj coming on stage near the end and accepting an award admitting in her speech she has absolutely no idea what the award is for. Maybe one reason is that this really wasn't an award show anymore. It was a concert show basically with one performance after the next and most of them were mediocre at best. That's why it really dragged and had so many lengths. 3 hours? Are you kidding me??? If you struggle with sleeping, then watch this one and you will sleep like a baby. Also disappointed Anderson gives his good name to this event as I like him quite a bit, but he is as forgettable here like his co-host and co-star from Blackish. And even if we focus on the awards, then things aren't looking much better. Minaj won an award and that says it all, actually she won more. I see no talent in her at all, so yeah no matter what perspective you are taking here, this event was a gigantic failure. With the exception of Smokey Robinson perhaps who was decent. Of course, the untalented likes of Rihanna try to cash in with Smokey right away. Over all huge thumbs-down for this bore fest. Not recommended and for all I care it's fine to make no future edition of the BET Awards.
