The Return of Laura...
4 September 2017 | by See all my reviews

Much like most of this season, I have no idea what to make of this finale. I feel like Part 17 should have been the season's end, while this episode shouldn't have existed. It's almost as if it's a fan- made epilogue. Not to say it doesn't look good enough to be a Lynch directed episode, but there's just not a whole lot to dig into with this episode. It picks up as Coop as unsuccessfully brought back Laura, and he decides to go off on some sexual escapade with Diane at a motel. Only to be taken to a different time period, find Laura (Carrie Page) in Odessa and attempt to take her to her old family home. Of course, it doesn't go as planned, considering the home isn't occupied by the Palmer family, but some random family instead. In classic Lynch fashion, we leave off with a cliffhanger of Laura screaming in which we'll likely never get to see the resolution to. That's basically your episode, and I have no idea what to think of it. As always, these Twin Peaks reviews go down as more or less just reactions. I don't think my time is best spent trying to understand these episodes, so I'll just leave it at: I'm glad this season is over because it was exhausting, but I need to see another season to conclude this thing.
