Period piece that is stunning
24 July 2015 | by (Vermont) – See all my reviews

Peter and John is a stunning film--filled with mood, romance, evocative emotions and great acting. An authentic period piece. Beautifully shot. In the same realm as "Merchant and Ivory films"--Jacqueline Bissett is beautiful and the young actors all shine. The story is very rich and feels like you are reading a good book. Jay Craven is an excellent director. The cinematography by Brad Heck is stunning Nantucket shines in this film. You will be thinking about the story for days. The movie was shot on Nantucket in the winter and the you get a real gritty, moody feeling from that. The production design and costumes are wonderful and evoke a beautiful period feeling.
