How 'Coco' Actress Found Her Voice Thanks to Frida Kahlo (Guest Column)
Mexico-born actress Natalia Cordova-Buckley is known for her role as YoYo Rodriguez on ABC's Agents of Shield, and voices iconic Mexican artist Frida Kahlo in Pixar's Coco.

There I stand, in the middle of the playground swallowing my voice. I'm six years old, and minutes earlier my classmates had declared, "Let’s play tag. Boys against girls. 1, 2, 3, go!"

The girls take off running, our arms flailing in the air, the boys right behind us. The other girls scream, their voices screeching, and I scream as best I can, the only way I can: low and husky.

A boy...

Marvel’s Runaways Season 1 Episode 1 Review – ‘Reunion’

Liam Hoofe reviews the series premiere of Marvel’s Runaways…

When the Marvel logo appears on your screen, it comes with a certain weight of expectation. The Marvel Cinematic Universe is an unstoppable juggernaut on the big screen right now, with the studio churning out excellent movie after excellent movie. The company’s success on the small screen, however, has not been quite as consistent. While Marvel’s relationship with Netflix has been fairly fruitful so far, shows like Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and more recently Inhumans have not been as widely adored by audiences. Marvel’s latest project, an adaptation of everyone’s favourite teen heroes, Runaways, made its debut on Hulu this week.

One of the first thing you notice about Runaways is just how different it feels to the rest of the McU’s offerings. In such a saturated market, Marvel have realised that they have to adapt to survive,

‘Marvel’s Runaways’ Review: Hulu’s First Foray Into the World of Comics is Ambitious, Complex, and Fun

‘Marvel’s Runaways’ Review: Hulu’s First Foray Into the World of Comics is Ambitious, Complex, and Fun
The basic premise of the new Hulu series “Marvel’s Runaways” is a bit over-the-top (but easily sellable on posters): What if you found out that your parents were supervillains? However, the mysteries laid out in the first four episodes presented to critics indicate that the series aims to be far more complex than that basic synopsis might indicate, and that executive producers Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage have a long game in mind for the show going forward.

The six teenagers at the heart of the series — brainy Alex (Rhenzy Feliz), good-hearted Karolina (Virginia Gardner), lacrosse star Chase (Gregg Sulkin), “social justice warrior” Gert (Ariela Barer), gothic Nico (Lyrica Okano), and soft-spoken Molly (Allegra Acosta) — aren’t exactly friends when we meet them, despite all attending the same upper-class high school in Los Angeles. But they’ve grown up together due to their parents’ membership in the Pride,

Now that production has wrapped, the countdown begins for the first trailer to surface, as the post-production process begins, as we get closer and closer to the July 6, 2018 release date.

This news comes just after star Paul Rudd showed off the new Ant-Man costume during a special video he prepared for the HBO special Night of Too Many Stars, directly from the Ant-Man and the Wasp set. We also recently got our first glimpse at Michelle Pfieffer as Janet Van Dyne, the thought-to-be-dead wife of Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) and mother of Hope Van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly). ‘Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ Season 5 Trailer Goes To Outer Space

  • The Playlist
Landing in that category of “oh my god, is this still on?”, ABC’s “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” continues to plug along, five seasons in despite tepid reviews throughout and dwindling viewers. Still, the hardcore Marvel fans remain, happy to press on through the slog of the upcoming season for the simple payoff of being able to exist in that universe.

As has been the case with many of Marvel’s television shows, the quality of ‘S.H.I.E.L.D.’ has very rarely (if, honestly, ever) lived up to the quality of the films.
