As of April of 2008, no one nows quite yet. In a recent interview, star Mila Kunis confirmed that the movie will likely be rated PG-13.""The movie is PG-13," says Kunis. "It's incredibly dark. You still get the gist of it. The only different between R-rated and PG-13 is you might not see as much blood."Mark Wahlberg: "Its PG-13, so you dont get to swear. You dont get to hide behind that."
Generally when a film's source content would make it R-rated the film makers shoot it without considering a rating and the studio removes the material in post to save the lower rating. Such has been the case with "I Am Legend" and "Die Hard 4.0" recentley, these movies in their original release cuts were PG-13 but upon DVD release were uncut and re-rated. Given the borderline nature of Max Payne's source, it is highly likely we'll see an uncut release on it's home market release. On the other hand, it seems as if theyre shooting it as a PG-13, and if so, there would be no "unrated" content to add in. Mark Wahlberg has stated that the movie will not have much profanity for the actors to "hide" behind, so would APPEAR that the version we'll get in the theaters is the film the director and cast want.Either way, its purely speculation at this point.
It is unknown at this time. He is not listed in the cast here on IMDb, so it is highly unlikely.
