• Abfolgefehler: When "Mrs G." tells the students that they wont be with her in their junior year (the first time) she is writing on the board. The writing originally is "write a first person na".......and then it goes from "...narrative" to "...na" and then just "...first person".
  
  
• Anachronismus: The movie is set in the early to mid 90's, at this time Starbuck's Coffee had not yet introduced the "Way I See It" cup, it would not be released for at least 7 years, it contains quotes from famous writers and other people, yet Mrs. G is seen holding one when entering the classroom and while drinking her coffee in a few shots
  
  
• Anachronismus: Ms. Gruwell makes a reference to "Snoop Dogg" in the movie, but we all know that during the timeline of this story, he was still known as Snoop Doggy Dogg.
  
  

• Abfolgefehler: When Ms. G is talking about writing Mies Gies instead of writing a report about the diary of Anne Frank, the information on the chalkboard changes 2 or 3 times.
  
  
• Fehler, die von Charakteren gemacht werden (möglicherweise Absicht der Filmemacher): In the scene where the students are reading The Diary of Anne Frank, one of the girls is reading a sentence, and then flips 3-5 pages instead of one.
  
  
• Abfolgefehler: At the beginning of the movie when Mrs. G is new to the school, in the office, she picks up her coffee cup and puts it down, then in the next shot you can see her putting the coffee cup down again even though she already did.
  
  
• Anachronismus: When Gruwell's husband, Scott, is watching football on TV while lying on his bed, the Falcons are playing. However, the Falcons didn't have those uniforms or Michael Vick, the star player of the Falcons, in the early '90s.
  
  
• Abfolgefehler: At the beginning of the sophomore spring semester, the student Victoria transfers from Professor Gelford's advanced English class to Mrs. Gruwell's class. Later in the movie we find out that Gelford teaches only juniors and seniors, so Victoria would have been at least a junior when she transfered to Gruwell's Sophomore class.
  
  
• Filmfehler: The newspaper headlines' actual stories are of a nutrition story which is repeated in several of the headlines throughout the movie.
  
  
• Anachronismus: In one scene set near the beach, a Toyota Sienna is seen in a parking lot in the background. The movie is set from 1994-1996, and the Toyota Sienna did not debut until the 1998 model year.
