Fred Wolf and David Spade originally wrote a skit in the '90s for "Saturday Night Live" (1975) about a child star rampage, spoofing _Silence of the Lambs (1989)_ , for when Macaulay Culkin was hosting, but it was cut. The idea was later pitched for The WB, but they turned it down. It was eventually totally rewritten and turned into this movie, originally written as a dark comedy with more references to drug use by child stars.

This movie absolutly had me laughing like nuts! There wasn't a time where I didn't smile.David Spade is excellent as Dickie Roberts! It was also good to see the former child stars! They really inspired the movie.When David Spade talks about playing games as a little kid,he reminded me of when I was little."Candy Land",and "Shutes and Ladders" were my first games when I was little.We have a hallway decorating contest every year against the grades at my school.Last year's theme was "Candy Land". We had our hallways decorated so beautifully.My friends and I were some of the characters.I was Princess Lolly!

There wasn't a single moment in this movie that I wasn't laughing.My sides were splitting with laughter! Everyone in the theater was laughing like nuts! My favorite parts would have to be,the slip and slide scene,when Dickie stands up to the bullies,the whole "This is Nucking Futs" thing,and many others! This deserves to be number one in Box Office.Some people were saying that they thought that it was Brad Pitt starring,not David Spade. It's true,they do look similar to each other,now that Brad Pitt is getting "shaggy"(i.e. long hair and beard) in a good way. I don't blame them for thinking that,because anyone would have thought that it was Brad Pitt.This is one of the best movies this year! Although there have been a lot of good ones,such as Pirates of the Carribean.10/10
