Dennis and Carl are brothers who live on a small farm in the Danish countryside. None too bright, Dennis wants a girlfriend for Christmas. The scene where Sidse Babett Knudsen wakes up in bed next to a severed foot and suddenly regains the ability to speak, was all ad-libbed after she and the director decided that her character Rita needed some more personality. There wasn't time to add to the script, so she had to make up additional dialogue herself while filming. See more »

Coal black farce plays like a cross between "Dumb & Dumber", "The Texas Chain Saw Massacre" and "Mifune", but is a lot less accomplished than any of them. The story of two dimwitted brothers and their troubles with a corpse, a nosy neighbor and a pregnant waitress is pretty thin, but director Oplev tries to compensate with off-the-wall gags and gross-out humor, which sometimes work, sometimes doesn´t. The cast is game, and obviously has a whale of a time, and there are a couple of genuine belly-laughs, but this is a mostly forgettable fare. Leave your brain at the door, and you´ll have a lot of fun, though. **½ (of ****)
