Excellent talk show

I discovered this Norwegian talk show a couple of years ago, ironically through broadcasts on Swedish television whereas I am Danish. Since then I have made sure of catching the show on a regular basis, at least when the announced topics seem of interest.

The show itself is simple, a number of guests sitting in chairs in a circle with a studio audience and usually a musical performance, but has a remarkable presenter in Fredrik Skavlan, who keeps the show equally entertaining and enlightening. Guests and topics are sometimes of strictly Norwegian interest, but just as often they become interesting enough to transcend national borders.

The latter is especially clear when international guests take the stage. Probably no other Scandinavian TV show is able to attract quite the star value involved here. A recent show saw Al Gore, Gro Harlem Brundtland, Muhammad Yunus and Leonard Cohen share the stage and, importantly, interacting not only with the presenter but also amongst each other.
