Entertaining short film with minor flaws

One of the frequent features shown on the cable station, MovieOla, THE BOOR is a witty, entertaining short film that succeeds overall, but does admittedly have its share of flaws. The story revolves around complete opposite characters: a raging farmer who seeks pay to keep his farm, and a wealthy, grieving widow who he seeks the money from. The story is short, and I will not spoil it for those who haven't read the original play or seen the short film. The film looks great (though it does show its low-budget), and the costumes and settings are delicate and for the most part, authentic. The performers do extremely well for the most part, though in the final section of the film, involving a dual with guns outside the widow's home, the actors' performances seem to die down quality-wise and words just kind of slip out of their mouths, though they still do fairly good jobs. Overall, it's a really enjoyable short film, but the only thing that ruins it is that dimness of the formerly great performances during the final scene. 8/10
