Synopsis for
Training Day (2001)

A police drama that stars Ethan Hawke as Jake Hoyt, a novice Los Angeles Police Department rookie eager to join the supreme narcotics unit led by Denzel Washington, who plays Detective Alonzo Harris, a thirteen-year veteran Detective Sergeant. Harris has decided to give Hoyt a chance to join his team with a one-day tour of the streets. Hoyt is instructed to therefore, provide his most diligent, yet necessary skills for acceptance to the force. Hoyt soon begins to figure out that his disciple or rather street-guru, has not only shown hypocrisy and corruption, but has destroyed the line between right and wrong. Alonzo begins to abuse his authoritative rights and incorporates his own immoral belief in ethics and street credo. As Hoyt becomes conflicted with his conscience, he suspects that he's not really being educated but rather set up as the scapegoat in a deadly scheme.
