John Lasseter is unbelievable. he is either a brilliant writer, or he has a knack for hand-picking talented writers judging by their apt story lines.
Geri's Game is a delight, a true gem of a film which was partnered with another gem Pixar film, A Bug's Life. Both were fantastic. Geri's Game is about, obviously, a man named Geri, who we are led to believe from the start of the short film, is a lonely man. in a national park during the autumn season, he plays chess with himself, switching sides of the park bench with the game on it, changing from shy and calm to angry and mean, sort of like an alter ego.
He captures the hearts of the audience, as we go for root for him and despise the other him, it's probably the most exciting game of chess ever to be seen on screen since the hilarious game of chess Michael J. Fox had during an episode of 'Family Ties' which ends in MJF and his opponent wrestling around on the ground, all thoughts of chess lost.
Geri's Game ends in a respective manner, playing the tune which is enlightening as the film itself.
marvelous achievement, and well deserving of its Academy Award.
