Sönke Wortmann returns to form after the misfire DAS SUPERWEIB with another adaptation of a successful book about a college teacher accused of having an affair with a student. It's a sharp, comic satire with a stellar cast of talented German actors working at their top (especially Heiner Lauterbach in a delightful central performance, Sandra Speichert a particular standout as the sexy student and Armin Rohde hilariously funny as a homeless person, once a professor himself), but it has too many characters, too many subplots and tends towards overlength and looses satirical power towards the morals-filled finale. Still Wortmann has the skills and talent to pull it off.
