• Geographische Fehler: The scenes in the subway supposedly take place first in the Capitol Heights metro station, then in the "next station," Metro Center, to which the Jackal runs. In reality, 10 stops and over six miles separate the two stations.
  
  
• Geographische Fehler: At one point the Jackal is rumored to be in "St. Paul's Station, just outside of Ottawa." St. Paul's Station is actually almost 500 miles from Ottawa, in Southwestern Ontario.

• Abfolgefehler: When the FBI agents are at the marina waiting on the end of the boat race, Koslova lights her cigarette. In the next shot, she is holding it between her fingers and it is lit. When we next see her, she is lighting her cigarette again.
  
  
• Filmfehler: When the Jackal is sailing, we see a helicopter shot of him setting the spinnaker - a sail that only works when the wind is from behind the boat. Then we cut to a shot of him sitting at the back of the boat, with the wind in his face (as can be seen from his hair, and the flag behind him).
  
  
• Abfolgefehler: when sailing across the great lakes, the mainsail (not the spinnaker, which he unfurls along the way) of the Jackal's ship is alternately up/down between shots.
  
  
• Filmfehler: In the sailboat race to Chicago, where the Jackal is trying to blend in, the American flag is flying off the stern of the sailboat. When racing, only racing fleet pennants are flown. Any other flag indicates "I am not racing". The coastguard who waved to the Jackal would have realised this.
  
  
• Audio-Visuelle Asynchronität: When on the helicopter Declan and Preston are talking about the jackal but when Declan says, "He will shoot off into the crowd" his lip movements are a bit behind the voice.
  
  
• Abfolgefehler: When the Jackal is aiming at the pack of cigarettes Lamont is holding in his hand, he actually shoots Lamont's forearm between hand and elbow, where a cloud of blood can be seen. On subsequent shots, the arm is chopped off just below the shoulder.
  
  
• Abfolgefehler: When The Jackal fires and misses the melon, the shot goes to the left, cutting down a tree. When he shoots Lamont in the arm the shot hits him on the arm, to the right of the target.
  
  
• Crew oder Equipment sichtbar: When the Jackal is rubbing his ear at the end of his weapon testing, a member of the crew and some equipment can be seen reflecting in his sunglasses.

• Abfolgefehler: In the scene where the Jackal has just jumped in front of the train the carriages seem to have conventional metal wheels, yet in the next shot as he stands the "train" appears to have tires.
  
  
• Faktische Fehler: When we see the weapon is first test fired from the mount and misses, the problem is unlikely to have been with the mount and more likely to be poor alignment of the sighting system.
  
  
• Faktische Fehler: Malquinn says that the weapon can send 100 bullets before the first one reaches the target. The distance of the Jackal's van is supposed to be 762 meters. If the muzzle velocity of the weapon was 1700 meters per second then it would take 2.231 seconds for the first bullet hit the target. That means the weapon must fire 44.8 bullets per second. That also means that the weapon is firing 2690 RPM! That is an unachievable number for a single parallel system.
  
  
• Fehler, die von Charakteren gemacht werden (möglicherweise Absicht der Filmemacher): When Declan is shooting a Sig-Sauer pistol at the Jackal, he imitates the recoil as blank guns don't have recoil. Except his imitation is late, recoiling after the gun is fired, which would be wrong, as the recoil is simultaneous to the firing of the gun.
  
  
• Filmfehler: When travelers are fleeing in panic in the final train station scene, one of them runs off to the left of camera then, when supposedly out of sight, strolls off set.
  
  

• Filmfehler: SPOILER: During the assassination attempt, where the Jackal is disguised as a metro cop, Willis is clearly wearing a bullet proof vest underneath his uniform. As the chase scene ensues, the bullet proof vest remains visible in every shot of Willis. After initially being shot in the leg/hip area, the Jackal is finally cornered inside the subway station. He is eventually shot in the chest which leads to a big-bloody-chest-exploding-Hollywood-climax. The bullet proof vest he was wearing apparently didn't stop any of the bullets or the profuse blood loss.
