The President of the USA goes to Moscow and gives a stirring speech outlining the USA's new "Zero-tolerance" policy with respect to terrorism. On the flight home, terrorists take over Air Force One (the President's official plane) and take the passengers (including his wife and daughter) hostage. The terrorists plan to execute one hostage every half-hour unless/until their demands are met. However, the President is a former Medal of Honor winner, so the terrorists may be in for a surprise... The final sequence where a cable is extended from an MC-130 to the 747 was filmed near California's Channel Islands. Paul Bishop flew the 747 in formation within a few feet of the MC-130. The camera plane, a modified B-25, had a top speed of about 230 mph, so the sequence was filmed at about 200 mph and the 747 had to be flown with flaps extended. This sequence is a nearly a shot-for-shot copy of a similar air to air rescue involving an MC-130 and a Boeing 747 in Airport 1975 (1974). See more »
During the refueling scene when AF1 breaks away fuel is seen spraying out of the boom of the KC-10. The fuel ignites and the flame travels up the boom and blows up the KC-10. Onboard the KC-10 there is a Boom Operator who monitors and has full control of the fuel that the tanker is receiving or giving at all times and also flies the boom. The Boom Operator would have raised the boom as soon as AF1 broke away and cut off the fuel supply long before the fuel could ignite. See more »

Five things we learn after watching this movie: 1.All Russians are either terrorists or cowards. 2.MP5, MP5K, M4 and Sig Sauer PRO are superior wonders of Western weaponary, which need no reloading ever. 3.When 6 Russian fighters attack Air Force One only one of them will fire at a time.(Courtesy towards enemy anti-missle system, I guess:)) 4.In air combat, Russian pilots never maneuver, even when targeted, guess, there is no chance to escape superior American missiles, so they don't bother anyway. 5.When a terrorist fires a gun, the bullet is stopped by body armor. When President fires the same gun, bullets go through armor like a knife through butter. 2/10 for casting Oldman.
