Tacky but tasteful but yet overdone

When this show started in 1992, it was a much welcome break from The Channel Four Daily which was just a boring heavily news-based breakfast show (a bit like Breakfast with Frost), which about five or ten minutes every hour for the children which was always on about five or ten minutes later than advertised.

The Big Breakfast was much more light hearted and more entertaining with corny and crazy chats and games, a little bit for the kids and frequent but brief news bulletins. They were not as obsessed with the news as the Channel 4 Daily.

I loved the crazy games they used to have like One Lump or Two?, Sunny Side Up, Telly Rellies, Get Your Kit On, Show Us Your Behind, Court With Your Pants Down, You Pet, the list was endless.

I loved Zig and Zag and their crazy bits too, sadly they seemed to disappear in the later years of the show, they had a few crazy games of their own like What's in My Pants (which was done as What's in the Pasta a few times) and What's Your Job, Bob?

It all started to go downhill when the original presenters quit and the show was given a makeover. Several makeovers were made all of which were not a patch on the original! Chris Evans left to pursue "Don't Forget Your Toothbrush", why? This show ended not long afterwards. He should have stayed doing this show.

Eventually the producers saw fit to give up the ghost and end it in 2002, sad, but it was on the cards! If only they left it alone to start with.
