Devastating, chilling and wonderfully horrifying... One of the best films EVER made!

I am at a loss for words after watching this movie... In fact, I am having trouble even collecting my thoughts on this one! I found the film both disturbing and depressing. Yet, I couldn't take my eyes off of it!

Seth Dove is a lonely and imaginative young boy with secrets in his head, and no ideals of letting those secrets get out. His father is an accused child molester, his mother is a miserable and abusive religious fanatic, and his brother is a mysterious yet caring young man who falls in love with Dolphin Blue; a strange English women, who Seth believes is a vampire and is working on sucking the blood out of his brother in order to achieve her youthfulness and make him grow older. Seth hangs around with a pair of trouble-makers with their own past to deal with... When one day they decide to play a sick trick on Dolphin Blue, is the day when bad things are about to happen "quite naturally." When one of Seth's friends disappears and then his body is found in Seth's well, fingers are immediately pointed at the alleged child-molesting father of Seth. Seth's father knows he is innocent, but there is nothing that can prove this, just yet. When soon, Seth's other friend is kidnapped and Seth witnesses the boy being kidnapped, he does nothing to try and help his friend. He knows what is going on, yet does nothing to put a stop to it.

The ending of this movie was gripping almost too powerful to believe... I loved the movie, but found it to be one of those movies that I could never watch over and over again, because of the way it made me feel; the music in the movie is depressing, the setting is depressing there is hardly any other dialog in the film other than that of Seth and some of his insights and ideas on what is happening. Innocence is the key theme of this movie, the theme is so forced, it will make one feel sick to swallow. I would caution anyone wanting to see this movie of the following; murdering of children is very sensitive in this movie, molestation of a family member is brought up, the disposal of a full grown fetus as well as Seth believing this fetus is an angel... Abuse and neglect of children, extremely heart-wrenching suicide scene, and an all too troubling theme of misery floats around in this movie.

I give this movie a 10/10.
