Clooney & Fabio Fight at Celebrity Restaurant
George Clooney and romance icon Fabio stunned diners at Hollywood's swanky Madeo restaurant on Friday, when they exchanged fighting words over a photo session. Fabio was dining with friends when one stood to take photos close to a table Clooney was sharing with his girlfriend Sarah Larson. According to America's In Touch Weekly magazine, Clooney thought the photographer was trying to take shots of him and asked her to stop - a request which annoyed his fellow diner. The magazine reports Fabio went over to Clooney's table to explain, but the conversation became heated, and the long-haired actor was overheard telling the Syriana star, "I thought you were a nice guy. Stop being a diva!" The encounter prompted angry Clooney to stand up and approach Fabio. An eyewitness tells In Touch, "The waiters broke it up before it got out of hand. George looked annoyed... George was drinking but he wasn't drunk." Clooney reportedly skipped the rest of his meal, asked for his bill and left. Fabio's manager has refused to comment about the incident, but says, "George is lucky he didn't end up in the ER (emergency room)." Fabio and Clooney weren't the only celebrities dining at the restaurant on the night of the scuffle - Dame Helen Mirren and Joe Pesci were also guests of Madeo.
Hopkins To Play Hitchcock

Sir Anthony Hopkins is to play movie mogul Alfred Hitchcock in a new biopic about the revered director. Hopkins insists he has been such a fan of the filmmaker's work over the years, he feels he's the right guy to portray his fellow Brit - and pay a proper tribute to him. Hopkins says, "I'm not one of those guys who went to film school and watched Hitchcock movies in order to study, but I admire people who know all about Hitchcock. I'm a real Hitchcock fan. I know all about the movies and had a closer look at why he set that shot up in the way that he did and the skill and rhythm of his movies like Rear Window and Vertigo. He was really quite astonishing and there's so much wit to his work. I think those scenes between Grace Kelly and Jimmy Stewart in Rear Window are so witty and sophisticated. This film I'm going to do is about the making of Psycho and Hitchcock's doubts about himself. He never had any real confidence and never felt that he was successful. He always felt a bit like a failure." In playing the director, Hopkins will attempt to forget a brief meeting he had with Hitchcock early in his career. He explains, "I met him once very briefly. He was sitting at a place called Ma Maison and I was sitting with my agent... He had just been knighted and he was very heavy, enormous; he looked ill. That was my one contact with him."
Lopez & Anthony Cancel Last Concert
Jennifer Lopez has scrapped the final show in her first-ever concert tour to get an early start on impending motherhood. The pregnant singer and husband Marc Anthony postponed the October 24th San Diego, California show as a mark of respect to those left homeless by the state's devastating wildfires. But now the show has been cancelled altogether because of an unspecified "scheduling conflict." A press release issued by the concert's promoter Live Nation reads, "Unfortunately, rerouting the tour has been impossible due to the event's last-minute postponement caused by the area wildfire emergency." But local newspaper the San Diego Union Tribune reports poor ticket sales and Lopez's pregnancy are more likely to be the causes for the cancellation. Lopez's tour designer Roberto Cavalli revealed the worst kept secret in America last month, when he explained how difficult it was creating costumes for a mom-to-be.
Osmonds Fly To Chicago for Oprah Family Tribute

More than 120 members of the Osmond family joined Oprah Winfrey in Chicago, Illinois on Wednesday to tape a special tribute to clan patriarch George Osmond, who died on Tuesday. The 90-year-old was supposed to join his relatives for the TV special, but he'll now be buried in his native Utah when the show airs on Friday. Son Donny Osmond says, "The funeral will take place on Friday, the day that Oprah airs, which is very interesting as far as coincidence is concerned. I think there's a little divine intervention in the fact that everybody will be talking about my father (on the show)." Sister Marie Osmond adds, "To have something like Oprah right now is really special to our family because there's nothing they like more than their posterity, and to be able to see all of them together at one location is really special."
Eagles Soar To Beat Britney

Rock legends the Eagles have beaten Britney Spears to the top of the U.S. album charts just three days after they stunned Britain by doing the same thing there. The group's first studio album in nearly 30 years, Long Road Out Of Eden, was expected to come in a close second to Spears' comeback album Blackout - but the final results weren't even close. The rock veterans soared to the top of the new Billboard 200 with a staggering 711,000 sales of their new release, while Spears trailed behind with 290,000 sales. Her new album is Spears' only release not to debut at number one, and, to make matters worse for Spears, the Eagles' new album was only available through Wal-Mart and Sam's Club stores - and the band's website. The group's success marks the first time Billboard officials have allowed an album that is only available through exclusive retailers to appear on their charts. Previously, titles that were not generally available at retailers were not eligible to appear on The Billboard 200.
Winfrey Pulls Racist Author's Book

Media mogul Oprah Winfrey has suffered another embarrassing setback - the author of a children's book she recommended on her website has been exposed as a white supremacist. Just weeks after Winfrey was forced to fly to South Africa to address reports a matron at the girls' school had been accused of molesting and assaulting pupils, the talk show is in the headlines for all the wrong reasons again. Winfrey has pulled Forrest Carter's children's book The Education Of Little Tree from a list of recommended titles on her website, blaming an "error" for including the work of a hardcore racist. The Education Of Little Tree was described as the real-life story of an orphaned boy raised by his Cherokee grandparents, when it was first published in the mid-1970s. But the award-winning book was caught up in controversy in the early 1990s when the late author, Carter, was exposed as a leading member of American white supremacist group the Ku Klux Klan. Winfrey has since removed the book from her recommendations.
Roberts: "Tabloids Should Stop Printing Photos of Stars' Kids"
Julia Roberts is calling on tabloid magazines to stop printing pictures of celebrities' children. The Erin Brockovich Oscar winner wants to protect the privacy of her three kids - two-year-old twins Hazel and Phinnaeus, and six-month-old Henry - from the paparazzi when she's out in public. And she doesn't like seeing her peers' children in the magazines either. Roberts says, "I just feel like it's so demeaning the way they behave, and I hate the fact that I even put any of my energy into thinking about it or being stressed about it. And really, more than anything, it just has to do with my kids. There's no reason to take pictures of celebrities' children other than for people to say, 'Oh, they're cute.' I think magazines shouldn't run pictures of people's kids. I have a problem with that. I also have a problem with the whole notion that, if I have Henry in a sling, I'm hiding him. He's a baby and I'm carrying him around, and so's the lady across the street. I get p**sed off, because I think that it's inhuman to chase a woman with her children." And Roberts finds it hard to understand why people are obsessed with the lifestyles of the rich and famous. She adds, "We're all the same. Why can't we get on board with this? That we're all the same? Some have cooler jobs. My stomach still drops when I turn and see someone with a camera."
Fawcett Finds Humor in Cancer Battle
Farrah Fawcett is fighting death with a smile, joking that Germany is "full of Germans" in her first public comments since she was diagnosed with anal cancer earlier this year. The Charlie's Angels star was caught leaving a Santa Monica, California hospital by a news crew on Tuesday night - and took a moment to discuss her cancer battle. The actress has been jetting back and forth to Germany, where she has been receiving controversial stem cell treatment which is banned in the U.S., and she joked when asked what the European country is like. Fawcett quipped, "You know, it's filled with Germans." She then got serious when the reporter asked for an update on her treatment, and revealed, "It's ongoing... (It's) tiring, yes. I felt much better when I was sick. (But) it's curing it... I have to get well (because) so many people are praying." The actress revealed her main concern now is recovering her physical strength. She added, "I've been doing Pilates and weights."
Lohan's Car on Sale?
Lindsay Lohan's smashed up former Mercedes-Benz is up for grabs on auction site eBay.com. The 2005 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class, which Georgia Rule star Lohan drove all over Beverly Hills - hitting paparazzi and other cars - before she checked into rehab this summer, has just 6,200 miles on the clock, and is being offered for a starting bid of $110,000. The car has the same license plate as the car Lohan crashed into a tree in May, and the sellers insist it's authentic: "We purchased this car with minor damage in the left front corner from California about 60 days ago."
