"Bennifer" Engagement Ring Goes Up for Sale

The eye-catching engagement ring Ben Affleck bought for Jennifer Lopez has gone up for sale, a year after the couple once known as 'Bennifer' called off their romance. The 6.1-carat pink diamond ring has been "re-acquired" by Harry Winston, according to Carol Brodie, a spokesperson for the upscale New York City jeweler. Brodie confirms that the ring is for sale, but the price is available only to "serious buyers". Lopez reportedly returned the $1.2 million solitaire to Affleck - who bought the ring in 2002 - when they split at the beginning of last year. Lopez went on to marry salsa star Marc Anthony in June, while Affleck is enjoying a romance with his Daredevil co-star Jennifer Garner.

Tucker and Ratner To Testify at Jacko Trial

Hollywood director Brett Ratner and actor Chris Tucker are expected to testify at Michael Jackson's child molestation trial. The Rush Hour film-maker and funnyman Tucker met Jackson's child accuser and his relatives before the Thriller superstar had even met the teenage boy. Illinois newspaper Chicago Sun-Times reports Ratner and Tucker invited the accuser's family to spend time on the set of the crime caper in early 2001. Tucker went on to fly the family back and forth between Miami, Florida and Jackson's Neverland Ranch in California in 2003, the place where the singer is alleged to have molested the youngster. The movie stars are expected to brand the family as "gold-diggers", backing up Jackson's allegations. Jackson's trial on 10 felony charges of child molestation, administering an intoxicating agent, and conspiracy involving allegations of child abduction, false imprisonment and extortion started in Santa Maria, California on Monday.

Critic Forgives Gallo for Cancer Hex

Movie critic Roger Ebert has forgiven cult director Vincent Gallo for wishing cancer on him. The 42-year-old lashed out at Ebert after he labeled Gallo's controversial film The Brown Bunny a complete flop. He was subsequently diagnosed with thyroid cancer. Ebert recovered - and is happy to have reconciled with the fiery filmmaker. He tells gossip website Pagesix.Com, "I had a nice talk recently with Vincent. I enjoyed the exchange. If you can't take it, you shouldn't dish it out. He had a right to attack me, since I gave Brown Bunny a poor review. I like him as an actor and I liked his previous film (Buffalo 66). Vincent is an original."

'Animal House' Star Vernon Dies

Animal House and Dirty Harry star John Vernon has died at his Los Angeles home. He was 72. The Canadian actor's daughter Kay Vernon said her father passed away on Thursday, following complications from heart surgery. Vernon studied at London's Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and began his film career by providing the voice of Big Brother in the 1956 film adaptation of George Orwell's classic novel 1984. He became a household name in his native Canada by playing Dr. Steve Wojeck in TV drama Wojeck. His Wojeck co-star Ted Follows recalls, "John was superb. He really knew how to use the camera, and vocally he was just born to have a mic nearby." During his long career, he starred in Alfred Hitchcock's thriller Topaz and his Dirty Harry co-star Clint Eastwood's movie The Outlaw Josey Wales.

Heartbroken Kingsley Files for Divorce

British actor Ben Kingsley has filed for divorce from his third wife Alexandra after seeing photos of the German beauty with her new boyfriend. Last month German tabloid BZ published images of Alexandra, 30, kissing estate agent Sammy Brauner, 41, the son of German movie producer Atze Brauner, in Berlin nightclub First. Kingsley, 61, says, "It came at a very, very vulnerable time for me and I was deeply, deeply shocked because until then I had no idea. It's very difficult for a man to learn on the internet that his wife has a new boyfriend. Tragically I had to file for divorce. I love her and I don't know what the future holds. What can I say? I'm very hurt. I'm feeling terrible disappointment and grief." Kingsley met his third wife in 2002 when she was an advertising saleswoman and he was attending the Berlin film festival. They wed in September 2003.

Wilson Defends Stiller Against Scathing Film Critic

Owen Wilson has lashed out at a New York film critic, for lambasting his movie pal Ben Stiller "tiresome" screen presence and for being the "crudest version of the urban Jewish male on the make". New Yorker magazine reporter David Denby wrote a scathing review of Stiller's latest film Meet The Fockers last month, saying, "Stiller is not a natural comic. He's not effortlessly funny. There's nothing wrong with the features, but they don't quite go together." In response to Denby's critique, American gossip site Pagesix.Com reports Wilson has leapt to the defense of his Zoolander and The Royal Tenenbaums co-star. Owen writes, "I read David Denby's piece on Ben Stiller with great interest. Not because it was good or fair toward my friend, but exactly because it wasn't. I've acted in 237 buddy movies and, with that experience, I've developed an almost preternatural feel for the beats that any good buddy movie must have. And maybe the most crucial audience-rewarding beat is where one buddy comes to the aid of the other guy to help defeat a villain. Or bully. Or jerk. Someone the audience can really root against. How could an audience not be dying for a real 'Billy Jack' moment of reckoning for Denby after he dismisses or diminishes or just plain insults practically everything Stiller has ever worked on? And not letting it rest there, in true bully fashion Denby moves on to take some shots at the way Ben looks and even his Jewish-ness, describing him as the 'latest, and crudest, version of the urban Jewish male on the make'. The audience is practically howling for blood! I really wish I could deliver for them - but that's Jackie Chan's role."

'King Kong' More Than a Monkey Movie

Adrien Brody hopes he will divert attention away from King Kong in Peter Jackson's upcoming remake by impressing audiences with the character acting he specializes in. The Oscar-winning actor wasn't prepared to play a stereotypically hollow role alongside the digitally enhanced ape and Jackson's spectacular special effects. However, Brody knew The Lord Of The Rings director Jackson wouldn't have approached him if he simply wanted the Oscar winner to make up the human numbers. The 31-year-old says, "It's true that King Kong is the title character, but one of my problems with the original is that you don't identify much with the story of the characters. You're just interested in the spectacle of the monkey. Then why would I be there, because I sure as hell don't want to be just there to work. I want to contribute some depth to it and something interesting. And believe me, if the studio or director didn't want that, they wouldn't hire me. So I have a feeling that it will have a little more than the monkey to attract audiences and remain interesting to a full range of people. I think Peter Jackson is going to create the definitive King Kong. We've got a bit to do still, it's a long one, but very exciting."

Spears Eyes Trump Development

Pop beauty Britney Spears has decided to live in the true lap of luxury when she buys her next home - she's eyeing one of the new California houses Donald Trump plans to build. The Toxic singer - who lives in Malibu, California, with her new husband Kevin Federline - and former Hercules star Kevin Sorbo are both interested in one of the $5.2 million villas Trump plans to build in Rancho Palos Verdes, California, according to the 58-year-old property tycoon himself. Trump tells the Wall Street Journal that he and Sorbo discussed the proposed 260-acre The Estates at Trump National Golf Course in Rancho Palos Verdes while golfing in Lake Tahoe, Nevada, last summer.

'Finding Nemo' Animator Dies at Age 35

Finding Nemo's lead animator Dan Lee has died at the age of 35 after a 17-month battle with lung cancer. The Pixar Animation Studio's employee passed away on January 15 at Alta Bates Summit Medical Center in Berkeley, California - after enjoying an illustrious career working as a sketch artist, character designers and animator on a range of top cartoons including A Bug's Life and Toy Story 2. Finding Nemo's director Andrew Stanton says, "Dan was a longtime member of our Pixar family. He single-handedly designed Nemo and has been a major influence at Pixar. Dan was a wonderful, irreplaceable, talented human being, and we miss him terribly." Pixar's technical director Carmen Ngai adds, "He was a very talented guy. I don't know if he knew how actually talented he was."

Graham in Love Split

Hollywood beauty Heather Graham is single again - after splitting with new love Josh Lucas. The Guru star, 35, and the Sweet Home Alabama heart-throb, 33, began dating in December, several months after Graham ended her relationship with film-maker Chris Weitz. Graham has previously dated Heath Ledger and Ed Burns, while Lucas romanced Salma Hayek. American gossip site Pagesix.Com reports Lucas attended a party at New York nightclub Gypsy Tea with former love, model Liliana Dominguez on Thursday.
